BetMGM and gaming supplier AGS announced on Tuesday that new Rakin’ Bacon titles will debut exclusively with BetMGM and at its retail locations, Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa and MGM Grand Detroit.
Key Takeaways
- Two titles from the Rakin’ Bacon slot series will be introduced online and in retail in New Jersey and Michigan via a BetMGM-AGS partnership.
- Rakin’ Bacon will be the first third-party game released by BetMGM exclusively in retail and online casino platforms.
- The first title is now live, and the second is expected to be released in mid-September.
The partnership marks BetMGM’s first third-party game to launch both online and on-property, with Rakin’ Bacon Jackpot Bonus Wheel debuting first and Rakin’ Bacon Jackpot Bonus Board following mid-September. Players in New Jersey and Michigan will be able to access the online titles.
"We want to set the standard for creating the most seamless experiences for players to enjoy the games they love," said Olivia Bartlett, VP of gaming for BetMGM. "The period of exclusivity reinforces our priority to be the top online casino destination where players can find the largest variety of games they can’t find anywhere else. Rakin’ Bacon! is a fun franchise that brings big brand recognition, and we are proud to collaborate with AGS to add these titles to our stellar roster of games."
BetMGM, Atlantic Digital release "Friends"-themed slot
This isn't the first exclusive slot BetMGM has seen in the past month. The operator previously announced it had partnered with Atlantic Digital to bring a "Friends"-themed slot to the U.S., titled Friends: “The One With the Multi Drop.”
The new slot became available on BetMGM online platforms in July in both Michigan and New Jersey, with more states expected to follow.
"'Friends' is one of the most iconic and beloved television shows of all time," said Sam Hobcraft, CEO of Atlantic Digital. "Bringing it to life in an interactive casino format has been both a privilege and a creative challenge. Our mission is to merge world-class entertainment IP with innovative gameplay, and Friends: "The One With the Multi Drop" is a perfect example of that. We’re thrilled to partner with BetMGM to deliver this exclusive experience to players in the U.S."
BetMGM faces loss in Michigan Supreme Court
While BetMGM is celebrating the release of its new exclusive launches, it also recently faced a loss in the Supreme Court after a judge sided with a gambler in a $3.2-million lawsuit.
A Michigan gambler used BetMGM’s platform in March 2021 and won more than $3 million across six days. However, after she withdrew $100,000, BetMGM told her the game she had been playing had malfunctioned and closed her account.
A Michigan Supreme Court judge declared the woman had a right to pursue damages from BetMGM after the Michigan Control Board noted BetMGM did not notify the board of the malfunction for days after the incident.
