Casino game developer IGT announced it awarded five jackpots totaling $17 million across its Megabucks, Powerbucks, and Wheel of Fortune slot games in the U.S. and Canada across both its land-based and online operations.
Key Takeaways
- IGT slot games produced five major June jackpots, including prizes of about $10 million and $3 million.
- The wins came from IGT's Megabucks, Powerbucks and Wheel of Fortune slot brands.
- Winners came from U.S. land-based casinos and an online Ontario player.
One player landed the biggest casino jackpot in Atlantic City so far this year, winning $1.8 million while playing Wheel of Fortune Double Times Pay 3x4x5x at Resorts Casino Hotel on June 8. IGT's biggest jackpot win for the last month followed on June 16 when a player won $10.3 million while playing IGT Megabucks Wolf Run Eclipse at Westgate Las Vegas Casino & Resort. It's one of the biggest jackpots recorded in the casino’s history.
Another win came June 18 after a player won $1.5 million on Wheel of Fortune Cash Link Big Money at Edgewater Casino Resort in Laughlin. An Ontario online casino player then won a C$1.3 million (about $920,000) jackpot June 22 while playing Wheel of Fortune Hawaiian Getaway.
The fifth jackpot was won June 22, with a player winning $3.3 million on Wheel of Fortune Gold Spin Triple Red Hot 7s at Harry Reid International Airport.
Since its launch in 1996, Wheel of Fortune slots developed by IGT have created more than 1,200 millionaires and paid out over $3.6 billion in jackpots. At the same time, IGT Powerbucks slots have rewarded more than 78 jackpots worth over CA$1 million since their 2016 debut.

Hard Rock Bet also produces big winners
That run of large progressive prizes continued into July, this time through Hard Rock Bet's online casinos in New Jersey and Michigan.
First in New Jersey, a player won $2.1 million during the early hours of July 4. The payout was the largest jackpot in Hard Rock Bet Casino history and the first New Jersey Mega Jackpot to exceed $2 million. The winner triggered the prize from a $2 spin on Silver Lux: Sevens Hold'em Respin, a game developed by studio Greentube.
It was New Jersey's third Hard Rock Bet Mega Jackpot win since the feature launched in April. The first winner received $1.9 million May 11. Another player won $1.9 million about three weeks later. The Independence Day payout exceeded the earlier record by more than $154,000.
Michigan also saw big wins in June. Hard Rock Bet rewarded over $900,000 in Mega Jackpots to four players, with each player winning more than $200,000. The winning spins ranged from $0.80 to $5.
“Four Mega Jackpot wins in a single month, totaling over US$900,000 paid out to Michigan players - those are the kinds of moments that define what Hard Rock Bet is built to deliver,” said Rich Criado, vice president of casino at Hard Rock Digital.
