FanDuel has enlisted famed sports broadcaster Erin Andrews as a Responsible Gaming Ambassador.
In an announcement Thursday, the sports betting provider states the move reflects the company’s “commitment to promoting safe and responsible play among its customers.”
Key Takeaways
- Andrews is one of the most familiar faces in the world of sports.
- FanDuel has developed a series of responsible gaming-focused tools and campaigns.
- Customers can set deposit limits, reality check timers, self-exclusion, and other preventative features.
FanDuel’s appointment of Andrews adds a strong presence to its responsible gaming ambassador program, which is part of a growing trend across the entire gambling industry of preaching responsibility and accountability.
Andrews is a familiar face for fans of professional and amateur sports, especially the NFL. The 47-year-old is FOX Sports’ leading sideline reporter, working alongside Kevin Burkhardt and Tom Brady.
Her new role will see her connect with and encourage sports fans to maintain safe habits when looking to bet on games.
“I've seen first-hand how sports betting can become such a huge part of the fan experience, and FanDuel provides the tools and awareness to enjoy sports betting safely from the start,” Andrews said in an announcement confirming the partnership. “It’s so important for people to bet responsibly when gaming to ensure that this space remains safe for others.”
Andrews’ role with FanDuel goes beyond its title. She will create responsible gaming content distributed across the sports betting giant’s social media platforms, participate in campaigns, and work alongside education and awareness initiatives. That will include posts and videos on her social media accounts discussing responsible gaming and opportunities for fans.

Andrews adds to FanDuel’s efforts
Andrews is uniquely positioned as a highly respected professional who has worked in multiple sports, but is not an athlete or a commentator. Her 25-plus-year career carries lots of cachet that FanDuel will now use to promote responsible gaming.
This builds on FanDuel’s “Play with a Plan” campaign, which encouraged customers to use supportive tools such as My Spend, Loss Limits, Deposit Alerts, and more proactive safety features.
“Erin is someone fans know, trust, and listen to,” said Cory Fox, senior vice president of public policy and sustainability at FanDuel. “By pairing her voice with our lived experience ambassadors, we’re expanding our ability to reach customers with messages that resonate.
“Her authenticity and deep understanding of the sports landscape make her an ideal partner to reinforce the importance of Play With A Plan.”
Andrews will join a team that also features former executive director of the National Council on Problem Gambling Keith Whyte, radio and TV personality Craig Carton, former NBA player Randy Livingston, and his wife and lawyer, Anita Ondine Smith.
Focused on responsible gaming
FanDuel doesn’t just maintain a responsible gambling campaign; it promotes it.
The sportsbook’s mobile app features a Responsible Gaming logo in the top corner next to its logo. Clicking the logo loads a series of options, including additional resources, parental controls, timeout, player activity statements, self-exclusion, and more customer-first features.
