hardy can see where we can go from 3 in vancouver to 7+ in Sochi just because we spent $50 billion on brand new olympic city and the whole country expects our athletes to all of a sudden start racking up 1st places everywhere...
barely any upgrades in traditionally strong disciplines for Russia, like c-c skiing, biathlon... figure skating where we scored roughly half of our gold each event has been in sh i t for years
personally im not spending a single penny on anything outside hockey, but this Under indeed looks good
not an expert in winter sports by any means, just throwing my 2 cents here

LOL, micalf. I posted before that I unloaded on Russia u10.5. There is the u7.5 option now: the latest projections are hovering around 6 golds for Russia. I am not sure if u7.5 is a safe bet but I think there is some value in it at this plus odds.

I put a little bit more on u7.5, but not as much as on u10.5. I think the "home factor" will not help Russia as much as you might think: the only projected-gold event for Russia where the judges play a big role is pairs skating. So the judges should not be able to help Russia.
What is good is that I had also put a bit on USA to win most golds at +300 and that option is now down to +150. I think it is almost 50/50 between USA and Norway. GL on whatever you decide.

Micalf, I have actually laid off my u7.5 bet. I think Russia will likely already have one surprise gold: team event figure skating. The US dudes bombed in the first event, while the Russian skater did much better than expected. So that will push the projected Russian gold medals to 7 and I think there is a pretty good chance that Russia will get another surprise gold or two (e.g. in hockey). The u7.5 in my book jumped from +105 to +125. Luckily, I did not bet that much on this option.
