In addition to what I said (I'm trying to shorten the sentences avoiding the page borders)
I'm working on tonight's picks and watching the wild card game at the same time. Let's enjoy and have a fruitful night!

Its not about just looking at the percentages. Those don't mean a thing. It's all about analyzing the line movement. That tells you which side is being bet more. When lines shift for a dog from +3.5 to +5.0 - 9/10 times I am going with the points.

Let me make some order on the subjects of line moves, public money, wise guys, sharps etc.
The lines and odds by SportsMavin - Part 1
Who sets the initial lines that are being released by the books?
Las Vegas Sports Consultants or LVSC are responsible for uniting under one roof all the activities prior to the lines and the odds being released on 95% of sporting events worldwide. Those are expert odds makers that actually set the lines as they figure the games are gonna end. Spread and Totals.
The next stage is passing those lines and odds to their clients - the books. At the books they doctor the lines and the odds according to what their perception of public sentiment or other factors and released the doctored lines to the public. Each book with their own agenda. Those lines released are the second stage in the lines life and the first ones we - the public see. There are some sites that are also a clients of LVSC and when we see - opening line  - that refers to the opening line passed upon to the books by LVSC.
Important to note that LVSC is responsible for up to the minute injury and weather conditions updates for it's clients as well.
Once the lines are released - two groups of professional bettors address them at first as they are ambushing those releases and immediately take action. So called wise guys who are kind of organized sharps who have an agenda of middling the lines they think are very sharply handicapped and causing the line moves by their organized effort only to take the opposite action before the game if their line moves succeeded. That way they target the middle of the lines and by risking a juice aim at getting the result from both sides. The other group is not organized together and are called sharps - people who consider themselves experts and think that some lines are not handicapped to what they think it should be and trying to take an advantage of the line.

The other group is not organized together and are called sharps - people who consider themselves experts and think that some lines are not handicapped to what they think it should be and trying to take an advantage of the line.

boston/atl under 187- On paper it seems like this game should possibly go over and projections have this game around 97-92.  However 9 outta the last ten times these teams have played the total has gone under 187...infact the last 3 were 163, 173, 180....I'm hoping this game will have both teams playing tight d and longer possesions. The total has gone under in 5 outta bostons last 6 games.....HOWEVER THIS IS MY ONLY LEAN NOT PLAY....

    knicks-6
-i think the knicks are a much better team then orlando right now.  Ever since Glen Davis has been out, Orlando has slowed down.  The Knicks have more weapons all over the place and a lot better depth right now.  Knicks 13-6 su in last 19 games and 4-1 against last 5 vs orlando.  I think the Knicks really get back on track here (atleast I'm hoping haha) and really take it to the Magic and use their depth to wear Orlando down.

houston-6....8-2 su in last ten games and basically this team is just on a roll rihgt now that I dont think they will be stopped by a team like the Cavaliers.  projections have houston by ten and I cant see Cleveland staying with this fast paced offense throughout the whole game...I think houston pulls away late and covers. Also 1st ranked offense in scoring vs 24th ranked defense
    .
utah-+9....Both these teams almost have identical records and I dont think Utah is 9 points worse then the Nuggets.  Ty Lawson still coming back, Kenneth Faried is ill and may or may not play.  Denver is a very good home team and though I see a possiblity of them running away with this game, Utah really showed up when they played in Phoenix and I think they will here as well too. My projections only have Utah losing by 3 which creates a huge differential between this spread from what it is now.  If Faried can't play I will feel very good about this play because Denver leads the league in rebounds.  I think Denvers home record and 20-14 record vs the spread has inflated this line too high.

portland +6 and a half...portland is 18-2 spread under the alst 20 times they have played minnesota. I do take into consideration that Portland is v ery inconsistent, but they have played better as of late.  Minnesotas Kevin Love and Rubio are supposively not going to play which plays anothe valid part in picking Portland here.  Minnesota is only projected to win by 2 on computer rankings that take into account many different factors.

GS+6- Golden State seem like they are getting better as a unit everytime they play together and they have a very good backcourt and mr consistent David Lee inside.  LA i believe is still reeling a bit even thought they beat the Lakers, they let LA back in the game and they lost the last 2 (including to the warriors) before the game against hte Lakers.  GS really blew LA out when they played 2 games ago and usually I would say well the Clippers are going to be highly motivated to want to beat them and they are playing at home, however, in this case especially with Jamal Crawford possibly out I think this game stays tight through out and GS gets the cover.
I am a bit worried about if Jared Jack not playing because he is very crucial to GS success this year and GS is better when Curry doesnt have to handle the ball as much and can play as a real SG spot. Also GS has won 4/5 against LA in last 5 games and spread covered for Golden State in all 5.

    I like the Pacers -4
Why? Yesterday the Pacer shot ver bad, Pacers are at home, Pacer with 0 days rest are 7 wins - 3 losses.
Ilyasova is not playing and Hill is back.
Pacers 5-0 ATS after a 10 point loss
Indiana is 11-3 at home vs 7-7 away for the Bucks

I think Indiana will win and cover the line
