JPaco wanted to give a heads up.. Indiana Hoosiers opened at -6.. over 75% of the public on the #1 team.. and the spread dropped to -5.5?? i'm going to hit minnesota big time, gonna see if i can get it at 6 before gametime.. but if not i'll bet 5.5.. really like the home dog tonight.. not too sure bout anything else yet.. leaning florida.. but probably done after that.

Ok. We started this post NBA All Star Game contest on a second half of the season  on last Tuesday and got better with each day improving our handicapping and admitting new talented contestants. So, here is the short recap of the first 5 days. Congrats to all the participants and thanks.

Tuesday  February 19 2013  (1ML +125 won as well and one ML +175 lost so not -110 lost on that one. Meaning +0.35 on top of percentage)   16-13

Over 210 SAC Kings - MIA Heat

The last meeting between these 2 teams ended 78-61 Phila against a depleted ORL team. Well, Afflalo will definitely give Magic a boost, but I don't see that much more scoring with the 76ers scoring just over 92 per game (29th in the NBA) and 25th in Pace.

SAC MIA over is just going with Trends
  • Over is 4-0 in Kings last 4 when their opponent scores 100 points or more in their previous game.
  • Over is 4-0-1 in Kings last 5 games following a S.U. loss.
  • Over is 5-0-1 in Kings last 6 after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game.

I don't think there's anyone here who doesn't want to do better. As long as each of listens to himself while writing a post about the pick he makes and sees that his angles, arguments and the overall perspective hold the ground - that is OK by me. Sooner or later analyzing his own pick compared to the outcome and perspective of his own as well as the other's will bring better picks in the day after or a week after. One thing is for sure - improvement will be there.
And as long as the improvement is achieved - my job, our job is done day in and day out.
You may not realize right now as we're in the process  - but looking back in few months and looking forward for the next NBA season - you will for sure feel more confident and a better handicapper.

Interesting thought - I am not sure thou that the msot popular play will always hold the ground. May be the consensus picks should be suggested by the weeks best record holders (looking back every week) and then discusses by all. 3 plays are too much in my opinion as the consensus plays - one top play is possible. I suggest those who know they are best record holders and have a say - to say it

I don;t agree that Parlays should be a part of this contest as it will turn into a wild competition and ego display. You have 3 plays given - id you heat all 3 - here's your recognition. If you heat 2  - and played a trixie (round robin) it will be a push. So - I don't see why 2-1 record should turn into push.

It will take focus away from handicapping the games as for me each and every game is the best play there is and should be treated as such by everyone when approaching their plays. Do not forget please that at the end of the day each stays with his bankroll according his own plays unless the person plays all the plays and some games as many times as posted. There will be some very good days when everything or almost everything will go our way and there will be days when the outcomes will be not so good. The point is not to have a big losing day on such days and so far we can say that on only two days we did not have a winning record (ties) we only lost an expandable juice while most of the cappers and players on Covers lost big. I am not happy for anyones losses - just pointing it out. My perspective is to stay as focused as possible without being dragged into the pointless wasting of energy on. Lets us end this season with over 25-50K overall profit as a thread and believe me - we will be the "must see" thread for every capper and bettor in the world. I'm repeating it again - we are achieving here the thing each of us individually dreamed about in the past - to be in a place surrounded with first of all good people who also happen to be a good handicappers with whom you can discuss your doubts and convictions, get a missing stat or pass one to others, have a civilized discussion about each and every game and see direction the wind blows not with general public but the real sharp people and handicappers. And you may not notice it - but each and every one of you  - some faster than others - are becoming the sharpest handicappers the sports has seen as no one exercises the record we have as a group after the All Star break, no one has such money maker as Phixer, and such contributors on a permanent bases as each and every one of you veterans of this thread and the new-old visitors who carry the ball each and every game. You all know who you are and I did not mention Phixer to put him above anyone but for his ability to manage his bankroll the way that solid plays make big money. Once we learn that tool and with our overall record - the sky is the limit

- green giants post convinced me, and the o/u was set at 194.5 then.. he makes 196 sound like a gift lol.
- The heat were favored by 13.5 over the Cavs with Kyrie in the lineup.. the kings are a far worse team than the cavs.. i know Heat didn't cover the cavs game but i don't see the kings have any shot in this game, only way they cover is if Heat up by 25 cruise whole 2nd half..
-I also think this total is a bit low.. as BRO has been known not too score much.. BUT these teams played last year and total ended at 196.. 8 of last 10 meetings between these 2 resulted over..and with exception of BRO-MEM game, both these teams have been playing over the 184.5 total lately

if i had a bonus play.. it'd be in college i like MINN+6 as 75% of public on Indiana and line is dropping.. tough to win by 7 or more @minn.. i'm taking my chances.. BOL everyone!

Strongest play for the evening for me is the one is New Orleans. Look at the teams the Nets lost to and look who the Hornets played. With or without Joe Johnson - the Nets are a stronger team than the Hornets. ATS wise too - the Nets must win few games to start balancing the record. In my opinion and despite the overall stats being on the home side - the Nets are not same team as historical stats may point. They will be for winning here and Davis is not 100% fit.

I like the Pacers very much this season. I see them taking no prisoners and against a feisty team as GS they are going to show up.
