RPI Chase Picks and Tracking Spreadsheet

Yes, thanks DG.  I noticed this myself when I opened mine up this morning.  That's the problem with not testing for a full day before posting it.

I will get this fixed this weekend.  I'll wait until Monday to post a new version in case any other bugs come up over the weekend.

The FINAL version of the RPI Chase Picks and Tracking Spreadsheet is now available.

Fixes:

• Eliminates cells that show errors due to unavailable data.

New:

• Automatically refreshes the pivot table data after each update
• Contains data from 4/30/2012 through end of games on 5/6/2012 (updated 5/7/2012 AM)

While I do not anticipate any further revisions this season I welcome any feedback and suggestions for improvement.

Update to Schedule

Just noticed there is a two game series coming up that is not properly noted in the schedule.  Please be aware of this and if you like you can change this on the Schedule worksheet.

The series is the Blue Jays at Oakland which starts tomorrow.

You will find row 732 and row 733 look like this:

Update to Schedule

For those using my version of the spreadsheet, rows 974 through 977 and rows 1054 and 1055 need to be changed on the Schedule worksheet to reflect two game series.

Notes:

• International users need to set Windows to use the US Date/Time format.
• Series games that end with an asterisk ' * ' indicate a four game series.
• Series games that end with a double asterisk ' ** ' indicate a two game series.
• The Streak on the MLB Results worksheet is accurate to the last consecutive result.
• The Last 10 on the MLB Results page will not update until there are at least 9 results.
• As noted on the MLB Results worksheet, do not delete the last line, it is needed.
• Do not manually insert lines.  Use the Add Ticket button or Import button as they run macros and copy necessary formulas.
• Inserting new rows or columns may cause unpredictable results.  Exercise caution if you choose to do this.

Using the Import Feature

The import button makes it easier to move your bets (tickets) from an older version of the spreadsheet into the newest version.

If you have 60 tickets in the old version, you would click the Import button and enter 60 when prompted for the number of tickets to add.

A macro will then insert 60 rows and copy all the necessary formulas.  After it finishes, you simply copy columns 'B' through 'K' and column 'M' from the old version and paste them into the new version.

No problem.

BAL - he is fudging on the RPI edge number.  Required is 42 and Baltimore value today is 41.

NYY - depends on what you have Wins in LAST 10 set to.  One of the rules is that teams you are betting on should have some momentum.  With this filter set at >4, then a team needs to be 5-5 or better over the last ten.  The Yankees are 4-6 going in to tonights game.

I just can't get this spreadsheet to work. I have excel 2010

it opens in protected view. i click enable editing and get this:

Removed Part: /xl/vbaProject.bin part.  (Visual Basic for Applications (VBA)).

excel was able to open the file by repairing or emoving the unreadable content.

I googled the error.  The first thing to check is that VBA was installed during the Excel (or Office) installation.  To do that, run setup use the custom option where you can drill down to see if it is installed.

The easiest way to do this is to edit the macros that are run by the bet buttons.  All you need to do is comment out (by adding a apostrophe ' at the beginning of the line) or delete the If statement and the End If statement.

You'd think I could have done that myself. I thought maybe it was something deeper. Thank you Canis, it's a totally sick worksheet.

Actually, let me correct this just a little Canis,,
The RPI requirements is/are 40-42 for a home team.  It's an executive decision. I didn't nec fudge it I really just saw that BAL is playing good ball.Their RPI was at 41+ over bos at the time. 
Bos is playing good ball but BAL right now is the hottest team in MLB next to the LAD.
