why did u take a push on the TB gm even though they won?

Rizz, how are you treating the BOS/TB series. BOS has actually lost all three games so far including the suspended game which a bettor could not have got out of, right? I don;t see where you've accounted for this 3 game series loss  unless we're going to play game 4 tomorrow.

I am not sure what your book did.  I got a push on game 1.  I posted a couple of days ago I was treating it as a push because game 1 pushed and game 2 of 4 was outside of criteria.  If people didn't get a push we can record it as a win or loss.  I figured everyone was in the same boat...

We were playing on BOS for this series initially, but game 1 pushed.  We were playing for TB in the sweep chase.

Actually, I didn't play that series because....I don't know why. I didn't realize that the books would treat a game that carries over to the next day as no action. That is fortunate for those who did play that series though.

Guys, I think I made a blunder.  I called the TB/BOS series a push a couple days back as I thought that is what would happen since the game was rained out.  In hindsight looking back I got a push in the NYY RL play and didn't play on BOS at all that day and had actually played on TB (from my other system).  This series would have lost three in a row.  Play game 4 if you would like, but I would only do so if you are using labby lines.  I apologize guys I was not in any way trying to sugar coat the record.  We may want to address how we are going to play/tally 4 game series.  I am using labby lines and would play all 4 but I am not sure as far as record keeping how we should do it.  Or we could skip game 1 and  play it as a three game series if game 2 still meets criteria???

I think we should count it as a loss.  I didn't play it either and am wondering if anyone did since no one said anything when I initially called it a push.  The idea of this was the favored team would not get swept.  I think we should change criteria for four game series and/or skip them altogether....

Using Labby lines for all four games is the way to go I think. You don;t want to miss the first game of the series.

So in effect, the series has yet to be determined although BOS is looking a little shaky.

I looked back to see if this was a problem last year becuase I couldn't remember whether I included them or not for sure.  I did include them.  I had one series that went to Game 4 for the RL win but covered in game 2 for the ML.  I think we will mark these as series wins or losses.  I will do my best to point out the 4 game series as they arise.  If you don't want to risk chasing to 4 you should skip these series although I don't think we will be in this situation often.  Thanks for noticing this kirby.  It is best we address how we are going to handle 4 game series now.  If anyone feels strongly about handling these series in a different way please let me know.

Sportsbook does not recognize suspended games, protests, scoring amendments, result reversals and overturned decisions for wagering purposes.

In baseball, all games that go at least the full 9 innings and finish tied as a result of a suspension of play, shall be graded as a push on all money line bets.  However, all run line and total bets will have action.

 

Actually Kirby it looks like my original explanation was correct.  The first game would have been a push and game 2 did not meet criteria.  It is still good that we addressed the four game series.  Here are the rules from my book and I know of someone else who got a push on this game.  People can play game 4 but I am going to change the record back to a push.

Sorry guys for the confusion.  The BOS series was a push.  If by chance anyone was playing this series I included it for todays plays.  I am going to change the record back to a push.  From now on I will mark all 4 game series with a win or loss based on the whether the team we are betting on wins at least 1 of 3 or 1 of 4.  BOL today.  I am watching the STL line as it may meet criteria if it goes above 150 by game time.  It is at 145 at my book but this system was tested using pinnacle's lines which are still below...

how did it not meet the criteria?  i undertsand the odds didnt fall in place but once you begin the chase, you should chase regardless of the odds correct?  you've already commited to gm1, so if u back out after gm 1 is it a loss?

game 1 was a push.  Game 2 of 4 was under the -150, so it would be like starting a new three game chase if it would have met.  If people got a loss, we should have kept chasing, but I think everyone got a push.  I don't know how the different books played it.  I posted this as a push a couple of days ago and nobody said anything to the contrary and now it is being questioned.  If somebody has played these games and lost please let me know and I will change the record.  The only game posted on here was game 1 which should have been a push....If we were to get a push in game 1 of 3 it wouldn't have mattered the criteria for game 2 I would not chase.  Since it was game 1 of 4, I reassessed it as a new three game chase which in this case was outside our starting range for a new series...

Just looking at Call82 and MNCI's thread and it looked like they got a push in game 1 also as they are making C bets today since they started chasing in game 2.  I think I played/posted this correctly on sat morning.  This is what I would have done in the case of a cancelled game or push in game 1 when I was backtesting.  If it ended up being a two game series because game 1 was a push or rained out I would skip it.  If it subsequently became a 3 game series I would reassess whether it was a play or not.  I think we should do the same this season unless someone feels strongly about it otherwise.  BOL

Well COL got us off to a lousy start today.  WAS almost burned us last series.  I think these lines against WAS are inflated based on last years performance.  They have not been that bad this year...   Hopefully they will get it done next game.  As mentioned previously, I am treating these away series very cautiously.

yes riz i am starting to see your point with playing road fav under the system.  had to go deep with Mil as an example. Yep i know it is very early but playing road favs can be "eventful."
