I am new to sabermetrics and all that surronds it, but am very fascinated by it.  I have applied it to tonights game with a couple of variables and have decided that the SD @ ATL game will be Under.

SD @ ATL U8

SN, unbelievable job on your thread.  Just wish I had found it earlier in the season.  Guess there's always next year!  At least I will have plenty of time to go through and get a complete understanding of all of the concepts.

Do you feel like the RL wagers were most profitable?  I am very interested in applying this to a totals system I have been working on.  

As far as NFL goes, do you have anything up your sleeve??  I hope you do!

thanks alot elithepunk good to see someone saw.  Again I have been playing around and my pics for early tomorrow are....

CLE ML -105
DET @ LAA O 9.5 -115
SD @ ATL U 8.5 -115
TEX ML +165
TEX @ NYY O 10 -105

This is roughly based on what i did yesterday.  It will be very interesting to see what happens.

sn i have been studying sabermetrics and stumbled upon a problem i can't seem to solve.. could you please give me a hand on this?
This might sound dumb to you, but my problem is how to find the designated reliever for the game? i searched the net but can't seem to find any.. thanks in advance
and btw i live in asia so the newspapers here doesnt have the information i want.. thanks again

The RL is value, which equals units; without a doubt, the strongest wager in MLB HANDICAPPING....

Just stop by to see how this thread is doing.. And it looks as great as it did early on!! SN you are the man and I enjoyed the run, got to busy with life to keep up with all the work this requires but you definitely have something here. Are you going to be doing the same thing with Football? Please let me know when you get a chance and if you are going to be looking into selling the system let me know as well.

Math isn't always right.. I'm interested in seeing your math for the Colorado ML.. I had an EXTREMELY large lean for the Dodgers RL.. It was worthy of a POD imo..

hey! your right, it's been a  long time since your participation, good to hear from you (yes, I remember your totals run)..... 

I am presently in preparation for "NFL  matchup strategy" 2009... to be   released within the week...

well yesterday went 4-5 so wasnt too good.  But these were based on very basic and were picked whether i saw a huge advantage or just a little.  Will try more with a little more data input next time.  Still very fascinated by it.

SN, how do you determine which games you are going to qualify for the day?  Do you actually break down every game on the board and then select which matchups are most favorable?  Or is there an easier way to select the daily games without having to run all the numbers on every game?

I do every game, every day...their is nothing pertaining to an "easier way" in handicapping sports,  fun, yes,  easy? No... lets just say, this is not for a lazy person
