My database is finally becoming useful. It's taken a long time to get the data in.

Here is a sample. These are just fun facts. None of this means dick, unless you believe that picthers make a game.

St. Louis last 20 games against the Cubs resulted in 13 - 7.

Jamie Garcia is 2 - 2 against the Cubs. Split with 1 win at home and one on the road. Each win resulting in 2+ points of margin.

Matt Garza is 11-9 in last 20 home games while Jaime Garcia is 9-11 in last 20 away games.

Just an unofficial play, that's all.  Plus Grienke, when he pitches at home MIL normally wins.

I'm liking the Mets playing like shit against the Giants. Should help give a more accurate RPI number when all is said and done

You said it pratt! Yep! Love it. I believe bigger the loss, as in points wise, makes em lose more rpi points because of the +/- run ratio is factored in. They keep playn like this & I wouldnt bet em anyway.

I said Minny can surprise teams. This is a classic example of on team on the way down and the other on the way up.

This is EXACTLY WHY we do not bet the RL in this thread.  I tested this system 2x before. It fails.  Please do not mention RL anymore here because it's a hope with a prayer. Our plays are just a prayer.  Now instead of a win ALEKTRA, you have to chase the rest of the series while we eat popcorn .  We, or I, BET2WIN. AKA...BETTOR2WIN.
Cards took a dump in the 9th.  Oh well. But thanks to pratt, and some extra beers last night I took those BOSOX as well.  We WON!!
RPI time is coming and it's becoming more clear of who is who.  Bet to win peeps.  The juice is irrelevant.  If you think they will win just one stinking game, you are probably right.  Unless you bet the RL.  ALEKTRA, I love ya man. No hard feelings. I've backtested this though with the RL. It fails miserably.  Don't be afraid to put your  D*** on the line come Monday morning when the RPI starts. I appreciate you posting btw.

Cards with the blown save...  devastating. But hey, when the only play I have to chase is on the cardinals, I'm not worried. I think worley is on the mound tomorrow. should be good.

No love for the Tigers? Numbers don't fit the rpi but I think they'll win 2 games. Also liking Worley but I'm worried about the offense of the Phillies. Any insights guys?

b2w...just letting you know that scores (run differential) are not factored at all in the RPI. At the bottom of the ESPN RPI standings you can read the formula in the "Glossary." It's records-based and takes into account the team's record, their opponents' records and their opponents' opponents' records. Whether they win by 1 or 25 runs doesn't matter nor should it as we are playing to win.

But really...does it matter HOW it is even calculated? No the system is WINNING and it is as good a system there is on these boards.
I am already up 8.963 units playing small on the UNOFFICIAL bets so far. If I had been playing them all full bets I would be up 26.375 units already. I would be 36 Wins, 1 Loss (Mil vs Atl), 1 partial Loss (Bos vs NYY 3rd game PPD), 2 pending and 5 more starting today. I may play it from the beginning at full strength next year.

One other strategy with this system that I play to eat up a Loss on a series is to add up the losses for that series and add 10%-20% of those losses into the next 5-10 series. With so few losses, I am betting that two series will not lose within such a short period of time. While this is Ballzy, it could hurt bad if two series lose in that short of a window though.

    Love this system b2dubs!!!

    dj,

yes you do add the juice. Whatever you lost on the first game you roll into the next game PLUS whatever your target win amount is. You can do it however you want though. You COULD just try and win back your losses on the next bet to break even...but that's not what we're here for haha!

So if Game 1 is -118 and you bet $118 to win $100 and it loses. Game 2 bet is to win $218, etc. Game 3's suck, but I've actually become comfortable with them by now. I was even comfortable with Bal @ LAA two days ago!! You'll notice A and B winners are predominant, BUT you MUST use correct money management here! Only bet a comfortable % of your bankroll, meaning if you do suffer a loss it won't stop you from future betting and you won't miss out for the long haul (which is where the cash is). Normally the long haul is where the cash isn't, but this system has been a proven winner!

    b2w,

will you be runing the continous rpi system as well this year.  I remember you running another thread for teams that would match up as a play in the next series as well?

    B2W's RPI SYSTEM

To make things easier I have put B2W's RPI system in a spreadsheet.  You can download it off of google docs, just follow the importing data tab instructions to update the RPI and various other data on a daily basis:

    VERSION 1 (no pitcher data)

    https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B5dydT9Oe6Jbcm5zdjBpcURHT1k

VERSION 2 (Still buggy - w/ pitcher data

    https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B5dydT9Oe6JbNnpUeWwzTHQxX2M

If you have any questions about the spreadsheet, issues, feedback, etc.  PLEASE PM me - do not clutter the thread with spreadsheet questions.

Here is my take for today.

I am chasing the Cards. They should have won last night, but blew it in the 9th.

Even though Mets are a PRE-RPI team, Miami is starting to gel and Mets are being exposed. Passing on this series.

Giants are my PICK of the day. They have combined for 24 points in just 2 games yesterday. Cain has pitched 24 innings which includes back to back complete game shutouts and has an ERA of 1.88. The best part is the Giants have saved their bullpen, so they are in a prime place for a win today.
