I dont understand how Stern can lay significant sanctions on the Spurs, a team can choose who they have on the court. What if they traveled with and sat on the bench?
The Spurs actually covered the spread by .5, makes me think the hype of players not traveling was a setup for bettors. Miami had to have a different game plan and mentality knowing who was not there.

In retrospect I agree. The facts are that Popovich has done this before. I agree with Plisskin that I think a part of this is big F U to Stern. They played well and covered the spread. I agree he's gonna be hard pressed to implement any type of sanctions. But also he could be doing it to satisfy TNT who has paid big money for these games. So Stern could be caught up with that aspect as well.
