So on the offshore betting......should you report to the irs, ive heard different stories on this.......just wondering because i'm going to be getting a lot of checks by december.....i know the sportsbooks don't report just wondering if they can track anything.....what do you guys do when you win

I've never used an offshore book.  I hear a lot of stories on these forums.   How are they treating you?  You have to wait until December to get paid?

 I would ask on the General Discussion forum and get some feedback on how to go about depositing or cashing those checks

I've never had any problems with the sportsbooks....this one is just a little slow.....takes 4-8 weeks .....Ive done this before but the last time i got nervous and reported it.....but i don't really want to this time lol.....I googled it and a couple of places say your not obligated to report......Yeah if I lived in Nevada I wouldn't either lol

That is interesting,  the checks coming from Nevada.  The main reason I wondered about the bank thing,  would the IRS be notified if there were large deposits being made into your bank account. 

Anyway,  don't sweat it.  Nice job on that cash.  That is some nice profit early in the NFL.

gg..what book do you use? I get my 5Dimes Western Union in a matter of hours...but I do not get more than $900 a week and it cost $60 or more to get it. I deal with several locals and have for almost 9/10 yrs, so, the $$$ comes as I request it.

I've never had problems in the past, the last time I had it wired in,....maybe i should see if there are any other options.....this is sportsbook.....by the form of check you can do  a max of $2500 each.....1st one of each month is no charge.

I know these Offshore boys take forever to pay. I haven't cashed out but I know Bovada takes forever to pay out. 4-8 weeks is what I have heard. They say they're working to improve it. As far as the IRS goes. If they send you a 1099 form then yes I would report it. No 1099 Form then you have to think about that amount of money going into your account unreported. It could raise all kinds of red flags. Because of the Patriot act this could cause you all kinds of troubles that you never dreamed could happen. If you're getting the money in dribbles from them you may be ok. Check with the Sportsbook and see what they say and decide from there.
