#1 pick- For Wednesday's Streak Survivor pick, I love the Temple Owls -3.5 on the road at the Ohio Bobcats in a MAC showdown. I believe that Temple's shocking loss to Bowling Green before the break was enough of a motivating factor for them to come out very focused here tonight. Both teams are coming off byes and should be rested and ready. I don't know what this is worth, but it is notable, when comparing the two team's schedules, that Temple defeated Buffalo by 34 points (34-0) and Ball State by 42 points (42-0). Buffalo and Ball State both defeated Ohio this season. Temple is also 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games overall.
Here are two other picks that I like in the SS range:
1.) NHL- Phi @ BUF- over 5.5 goals - all four regular season meeting went over LY and in five of their seven playoff games LY. The over is 22-6 in their last 28 meetings. Also, the Over has hit in the last 7 Philly games and is 7-3 in Buffalo's last 10 home games (going back to LY).
2.)NHL- Buffalo Sabres ML -129 - Buffalo faces a weakened Flyer squad missing the offensive firepower of F Daniel Briere and their defensive enforcer in D Chris Pronger. The Sabres will be highly motivated at home tonight to avenge last year's ousting from the playoff at the hands of these Flyer's. They should be able take advantage of the early season struggles of PHI goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov.
