It's almost like I warned ya it was coming...
Umass/Boston College Under 143.5
This game is being played in an NBA arena, at 2pm local time. I can't imagine there being more than 3,000 people in this building for this game. The environment is going to suck. Frank Martin likes to play with tempo, but I don't think Coach Murray will let them to their liking. BCs first game vs Wagner only had 65 possessions, and it was the Eagle defense that rose up for them. They held Wagner to 3/15 shooting from 3, and 34% from 2. Umass will offer more of a challenge, but not by a large stretch. They lost their best 3 offensive options from last years team.
Troy/Florida St Under 159.5
Florida St has in state rival, and number 1 team in the country in Florida on deck. Probably not looking ahead to it, as it's not until Tuesday of next week, but they are thinking about it. We were on Florida St over in their first game, and it hit, but that was against Florida AM who followed that loss, with a loss to Fort Valley St....I have no idea. So, that FSU drubbing doesn't count for much. Troy will not get in a up and down game. At least if they are smart they won't. Their offense looked terrible vs Umass, and should look no better against these better athletes.
UNC Greensboro Spartans +8.5
These two met last year around this time, and Elon went into Greensboro and came out with a 2 point OT win. I expect a similarly played game here. I don't know why the number is so big, with such a little gap in talent between these two rosters. A lot of new faces in Greensboro, but Coach Haase is no stranger to this stuff. He spent the last 9 years at Stanford. Elon may win the game, but by 3 possessions seems like a stretch.
Xavier Musketeers -24.5
Thumping incoming. Eastern Michigan won their opener in dramatic fashion, going into Coastal Carolina and winning by one. The same Coastal Carolina team that we saw last lose by 300 to Duke. EMU had two guys score in double digits, and over a quarter of their points came from the charity stripe. That isn't going to be the case this evening. Xavier has their best player back, and brought in 3 immediate difference makers from P5 programs. They easily dispatched of Mount St. Marys by 45 on Monday, and I'd be shocked if they dont win by 30+ tonight.
Wofford Terriers +21
UNC isn't very good right now. A new coach, and complete new roster, is going to take time. I'm not sure the talent is even really there for them to compete in the ACC. That being said, Wofford played with Tennessee the entire first half, before Tennessee kind of dressed up the final score. UNC played terrible against Western Carolina and won by 8, and I think they win this game, but its in the 15 point range.
Missouri Tigers -1.5
I really don't want to bet this game, but I think Mizzou has way too much length for these Bills. Robbie Avila won his 5/5 case, and is eligible, but I'm not sure he plays and if he does it won't be much. This Billikens roster was built thinking they didn't have him, so I'm not sure how this is going to play out. But Mizzou looked the part in their 61 point win over Cleveland St. Jason Crowe Jr is freshman most don't talk about, and Mark Mitchell is still a dude. They can go 4 guys at 6'9 or taller, with Crowe at the PG. That's going to be a problem for people all year. Hell of a basketball game tonight.
Later games in a bit.
