all in all.. it should be a very defensive game here... defence with championship and that what these two teams are built on... of course all this is one man opinion... and i wish you all the best on you plays.. as for me.. i'm staying on the under here.. and relying on the strength of these two teams, their defence, to keep things close.. and low..

Nope. He played the whole first quarter in the first preseason game. Sat out the second game. Played the whole first half the third preseason game. And played one series the fourth preseason game.
As for Collins, he also played for Carolina before Oak and NYG. This is his fourth team in a 15 year career. There's a reason for that. It's because he's unreliable and inconsistent.
I'm not trying to talk you out of your picks. Just debating you on them and your reasons for picking them. BOL to you as well.

I can see Tenn and Pitts not doing much first half at all... But I see pitts 2nd putting it away. First real game of the year. Start slow, careful and steady. I would be surprised if score was 3-0 by half time.
Since my line is +3.5 1st. I am taking tenn first half but pitts whole game for -6.5
It's and odd play but I have a hunch. This game can go either way.

Soooo - Kerry "The Slug" (and former loser Oakland Raider, remember) Collins had 1 lucky "breakout" year behind a decent O-Line..... I guess a stopped clock is right twice a day, and sometimes miracles do happen - HA!!!

That was last year 2 or 3 years ago every game went under due to no experience
game goes over for me and tenn +6.5 I believe fisher has his team prepared for this game !!! I'd like to know the trend for the super winners on the first game of the new season Anyone know where to find such a trend
seems ESPN always says what it was after the game is over

TN losing Haynesworth is HUGE...I like TN to cover at first glance, and unless a higher power in NV has something to do with this, PIT should take care of business tonight...
I bet PIT against TN last year, and they really should have won...If Ben didnt fumble as he was running into the Endzone, I think they would have won the game...
IMO, I think PIT by far is on another level in regards to their Defense...The only other team in the NFL who comes close are the Ravens, and then the Giants, and the Giants D-backs are no where near as good as PIT or the Ravens...
I say all this and I am not even a Steelers fan...I will say this, just like how you can always count on Ed Reed and Assante Samuel to change the game...Look out for Troy Palamolu to make a big play...

New England in 2004 was the only team of this decade not to cover in their first game after winning the Super Bowl when they beat Indy 27-24. Don't just post stuff for the hell of it. Make sure it makes sense. One more thought Pittsburgh is 6-0 in their last 6 opening games.

THE COVERS.COM NFL FORUM HANDICAPPING CONTEST
Anyone can make a pick. Anyone can post it on a website. If you are wrong, no consequences occur. No one ever knows how well or how poor of a handicapper you are. It’s time to put your money where your mouth is.
Well, this season for the first time on this forum, I have decided to run a contest which I will personally fund. A grand prize (details of prize given if you join) will be given at the end of the Super Bowl if you win the contest.
How to register:
Please send an email to dsong23@gmail.com with your full name and User ID you use to post on Covers.com. Registration will be taken until Sunday 13th at 12:59PM EST. Since the grand prize is dependent upon the full name given, please do not sign up for more than 1 account or you will regret it when the prize is given.
How to play:
Every week, every registered user must post on the appropriate Covers.com game thread their NFL picks against the point spread according to the Las Vegas Hilton betting line ONLY. Each player will be required to place a wager on 2 NFL games at minimum EVERY week and 5 NFL games maximum.
How to place your wager:
Because of the fluctuation in the betting lines during the week, every wager will be assigned the Hilton spread closest to the time where Covers.com updates their line history page. When making a bet, every registered contestant should send an email to dsong23@gmail.com with the heading “Covers.com Contest – (Your User ID)”. All emails which are not addressed with this heading will NOT be accepted. If you do not bet the minimum of 2 games in a week, you will automatically be removed from the contest the following week.
For example: NFL Football – Tennessee @ Pittsburgh on Thursday September 10, 2009
If a wager was made and sent to me via email at 9/5/09 at 9:00 PM, that user will receive the Pittsburgh -5.5 line rather than the Pittsburgh -5 line. Unfortunately, this is the fairest way to resolve this issue because I will not always view a user’s pick at the moment in which he/she makes the pick.
Every bet is made in a single unit bet. Therefore, you cannot make one game you pick more than a single unit.
How to win:
There will be one (1) grand prize awarded at the end of the Super Bowl for the person who has the highest winning %. No award will be given for the highest number of wins because some users making 5 bets a week will have a greater advantage for this award. However, in case of a tie, the tiebreaker will be the user with the highest number of wins since it is more difficult to have a higher winning percentage picking 5 games a week than 2 games.

Ah... guess i was wrong.. thx for letting me know...
as for changing my mind... glad we can have a good debate on this game, and future games without having to worry about upstting anyone.... i know the trends all point against me here... but just like the strength of both d to hold up here..
