I couldn't agree more with this statement but there is always two sides to every story...lets look at San Fran..they fired their coach, changed QB's, had a player told to go to the locker room, and are having a horrible season...teams and players also quit and give up.

San Fran is a very talented team (except for QB) that just underachieves.  On paper their roster is just as good as some current winning teams if not better from top to bottom.  But that is why they play the game. (Do you hear that Cowboys!)  This week I feel that this is a statement game for this team.  They did beat AZ earlier this year in a very exciting game if you all recall.  Frank gore needs at least 150 all purpose for them to have a chance. I look for them to step up and be very motivated and emotional considering all that has happened.  Dont laugh even the Chiefs stood up yesterday.  This is the NFL people!!!

imo...vegas wants action on SF+10...i had this game opened
@ -8.5.....it seems like public is on ARZ and vegas is moving the line in that direction. then again...does vegas really need to adjust lines with all the action they are getting? if they do....why are they moving it? they can afford to take hits...so imo they move it so they can either balance the action or they have the fix on it. which line moves means what? so vegas moves a good 1-2pts upwards so i take it they moving it bcoz they agree w/public perception and possibly heavy action is on the home favs...otherwise they wouldve done those rev line movements or left the line at 9.5 till kickoff... so after all that bullshit...im leaning ARZ...but im still waiting on my FF play .....

Who beat AZ in a very exciting game??? It wasn't SAN FRAN...they lost at home to AZ 23-13. San Fran beat Seattle (2-7) in overtime on the road and Detroit (0-9) at home. San Fran is out classed here.

This game will be Under the total if the 49ers DB's hold their own against the best WR's in the league and their only shot staying inside the number is to run Frank Gore and pass seldomly.

Colts was pretty even 50/50
Titans the public favored 68%
Vikings did not cover unless you got it below -1
Falcons was also pretty even 50/50

Only Seahawks and KC covered with 65% riding on the other side.

I picked SF -9.5 because I think Singeltary can turn them around, but it dropped to -10.5 today. Are they trying to say SF can't get close?

One of my favorite Monday Night plays involves home teams returning off back-to-back road games. That's because, since 1980, teams in this situation are 54-36-1 ATS (against the spread) – or 60 percent ATS on the blind. But when you add one more factor, those numbers get even better.

Play on any NFL Monday night home team off back-to-back road games versus an opponent coming off a home game. When you follow that criteria, the record improves to 39-20-1 ATS. Better yet, make sure you are playing on a worthy team (win percentage greater than .400) and we improve those numbers to 32-13-1 ATS.

Best of all, put the worthy home team up against an opponent off a division home game and we soar to new heights, going 20-3-1 ATS.

This makes your play: Arizona Cardinals -9.5

Well, well.....lots of opinions here tonight......all across the board to boot!  Here is my two cents, for what it is worth. 
 
No doubt that the Cardinals are in a rare postion to be favored by this much.  I believe it to be a few points out of position, from a line setters view.  A couple less points on the spread would get a much better fall on either side for the action, which Vegas prefers. 
 
But there are a couple of facts that I haven't seen talked about here and those are these........SF's two wins are against two of the worst teams in the league.  Detroit(the worst) and Seatle.  The other 6 games are ALL losses!!!  And not one of them is by less than 9 points!!!!  NE and thier typical ugly game that they are forced to play this year is the 9 point loss.  One other game by 10 points.........and the other 4 would all be covered by the 10-11 points that this game's spread will be at kickoff!!! 
 
Miami didn't cover the thick chalk yesterday.......they don't have the #1 offense in the NFL(points scored per game).  SD didn't cover yesterday(they are a poor defense and just not that good).  But Carolina covered and played horrible against a team in termoil with a new starting QB(Situation sound familiar)?  Jets covered with a vertical passing game and solid running game against a team from the same division, WITH THE SAME RECORD, WHO ARIZONA JUST KILLED ON THEIR FIELD LAST WEEK!!!
 
Oooppss, sorry, I'll try not to yell........Take Zona and if you think that SF is ready to play tonight and Mike Singletary is going to get them as fired up as he used to be(which he won't and can't)........take the under with the favorite.  It's the book's bet........everybody will take the cover/over or the dog/under..........Just my thoughts and stats for the night........GL to all my friends!

take it from me, A looong time Niner fan ... ARIZ at the Half -6.5

Also for the game -9.5 

Niners are hurting.. they lack a deep threat lack a hard hitter on D and lack confidence.  They will fight but will be out classed.  I was at the game week 1.. we simply could not get them off the field on 3rd down.

Thats been the niners issue all season. They will play better because Shaun Hill does not turn it over.  He is 2-0 as a starter but he will not win this 3rd game.

AZ opens up with a flurry and goes up 17-0 in the first half. Then SF comes out in the second half and makes it close. I can hear Kornheiser saying, "SF looks like a different team in the second half." Final score AZ 27 SF 21

I stand corrected on the game earlier this year.  But I still feel SF is a sleeping dog that may have just woke up.  E. James better come with his A game because AZ will be in trouble if they are one dimensional.

OK, my 2nd post on covers. I've been following and reading here for a couple of years now.

Going into last week starting Tuesday, I neglected to calculate numbers and just betted against the public in most games....boy did i pick the wrong week to do this. Some examples:

Everyone and their mothers was leaning on Carolina which was about 68%...well, who won that game and last night was 58% on the Giants...tell me again who won that game. Oh...Baltimore against Houston, Jacksonville. NCAAF: Buffalo, Nevada and many others. Sometimes we look to deep and neglect to see whats right in front of us. Ask yourself and don't think about vegas, books and all the Cappers write-ups....on 11/10/08 will Arizona beat San Fran who is starting a back-up QB at their hostile desert home by 9.5 points? I say yes!

Besides Arizona is 4-0 ATS last 4 games, while San Fran is 0-5 ATS last 5 games.

The over is 3-0 in Arizona, 7-2 Arizona last 9 games.

My picks: Arizona -9.5 and the Over 47 BOL!

agree that SF isnt that bad of team, but what they lack at this juncture in time is chemistry, mom and dad took the set away, maybe get some kind of bond together over locker room antics, maybe they just fizzle and say " wait until next year", is a team game, can have all stars but if get anyone of them letting up can cause issues and distractions. Think Cards have better team and playing extremely well. Might just put up and big number themselves tonight, Can't let up now, looking to win division and maybe get a home game in playoffs, Like Cards and Over just to much talent and will on Cards side of field tonight

New 9er QB so you never know.  One could argue the 9ers have a better chance with Hill in terms of limiting turnovers.  Turnovers have played a big role in the past losses with JTO.  With Hill, I think they have a better chance at going 3 and out then turning the ball over...so net positive...lol.

AZ will score. And maybe a Gore-centric game plan, for once, will put them in the endzone a few times as well.  I like the over better than I do 9ers to cover, but a lot of things need to not go wrong for any team to cover a double digit spread. +10 and OVER 47
