I think everyone is not giving Pitt credit because they struggled against 2 top D's. The difference this week is that the Jags don't have the D like the usually do. I believe the key to beating the steelers is to put pressure on Big Ben. The Jags only have 5 sacks this season, which is one of the lowest totals in the league. 4 games with 5 sacks is not impressive. Pitt has had 15 sacks in the same amount of games. ALSO the Jags are giving up a 50% 3rd down conversion rate this season and going against Big Ben who has one of the highest completion %'s year after year that is bad news. Pitt has also only allowed 72 yards rushing per game. So that will be a strength vs strength matchup. The books know that Pitt will be undervalued due to injuries and two tough games against two great pass rushes.

I wouldn't say the Jags win this one easily. Last week Matt Schaub carved their secondary up in a overtime thriller. To say the least he threw the ball with vitually no pressure and it looked way to easy for him.  The Steelers passing offense has been pretty nonexistent so far this season.  This could be their coming out party. Also Fred Taylor and Jones Drew are not in mid season form. I don't expect them to get back to it against a tough Steelers defense.  They still play defense ya know.  Every team is banged up, hell there are even starters playing at 60% and ya just don't know because thats life in the NFL.  This is a big game for Pitt that will really matter late season.

    My Choice:

Pitt ML & Over (because if they win alot of points will be scored if they win)

Looking to take the Jax here in the first half at -3, but I'll wait closer to gametime.

I have the Steelers on a 7 point teaser.  +12 should be cash.

Low score = Steelers keep it close and maybe come out with the ML win as well.

Go Steelers!  They did it for me on Monday night  and now looking for a Sunday night treat!

I have the Steelers on a 7 point teaser.  +12 should be cash.

Low score = Steelers keep it close and maybe come out with the ML win as well.

Go Steelers!  They did it for me on Monday night  and now looking for a Sunday night treat!

    I do think so bigdaddy.

Jax 1st half looks good to me. The Steelers shouldn't have cashed my ticket last week, and they really are having problems on their offensive line. As I said earlier, these two temas will have identical records when the dust clears.

Can anyone help me with the following questions to think about before picking on this game, cuz you might also want to take an inside look at some of these ??:

    - Heard they picked up Davenport off FA, is he the same RB as he was in the past? Or is this even true?

    - Is the Steelers offense going hurry up tonight, cuz they looked pretty good when BigBen took control of the plays against the RAVENS D...

    - Any key injuries on the pass DEF for the Jaguars?

    - Is this going to be a defensive game like everyone thinks?if so, might take under...but this could easily be kind of a shootout if BEN goes no huddle??

-past games have been pretty close and usually been around a 3 point spread, do these hurt RBs really have that much of an effect for the spread to go up to 5? Is that a trap?(might take the points??)

-Steelers havent really put up numbers on the road, plus with the short week, will they keep that trend up?

-Jags home games have been decided by 4 or less points this year(even though theres only been two)

-Is the revenge factor in Steelers favor for the Jags beating them on THEIR TURF the last two meetings?? That Defense has got to be pretty upset...and ready for some payback...

    Biggest consideration:
Garrard needs to make me believe he's somewhat the QB like last season, (and I don't mean a 236-yard, 1-TD effort against the terrible Houston secondary), I don't know if I can take the Jags until he shows me something.  If the Texans can hold him to that, what are the Steelers going to do to him? Plus the Steelers defend the run pretty well dont they??...Steelers RUN D - 74 yds/game

My prediction based on steelers offense:
    (hurry up no huddle)
    PIT 23
    JAC 13

    (reg offense)
    PIT 16
    JAC 13

this might help some of you, maybe not, just thought I would give things to think about...let me know some feedback if anyone wants to help out as well!! GL BigDaddy, sorry if I have confused your first half pick, just wanna give some input in there, and it might change your mind, but if you have anything to make me change my mind, please do!  GL to ALL!!

Mon night team on the road with no running backs and a banged up QB-Damn looks to good to be true. Prob is but going to have to look hard at laying the points.

Good post T-REV.  I have been pondering this game all day and keep flip-flopping.  If Ben gets to rolling the Steelers should cover, both teams have good D's and their O's leave much to be desired.  I feel the odds makers are giving the Jags alot of credit because of the home field advantage.  I have decided to tease this one 6/4...which I NEVER do, but this seems like the perfect opportunity to implement the teaser. Give Pitt 6 more points on the line and add 4 to the total: I am taking Steelers +11 and under 40.5.  My prediciton is 21-17, Jags.

I like the spot there in here playing at home against a banged up Steeler team. I feel that Jax will take advantage of it early with the running game to set up the play action passes.

Pitt will try to keep it simple on the road due to injuries I think. Pitt has struggled in the first half of games while Jax normally starts off strong at home.

    Good luck my friend
