Eagles are 4-1 SU and ATS since that Nov 23 benching of QB McNabb while outscoring opponents by an avg of 29-12. McNabb, meanwhile, 8 TDs and only 1 pick in that same post-benching span.
Can only imagine the look on Viking QB Jackson's face today versus Philly's ever-changing defensive looks and that veteran secondary.
Philly + OVER.

I'm not sure I can bet this game 'cause I've been watchin' the Eagles since Dick Vermeil's boys took out the Cowboys in the VET with Harold Carmichael, Wilburt Montgomery, and Jaws under center.
And I agree with those who've spotted the Eagles inconsistency this season.
However, Jeff-Bob makes maybe the most important point: Brad Childress (who a lot of Vikings fans are not enamored with by the way) learned everything from Andy Reid.
And the Eagles are by far, the more seasoned ball club in this game. These are many of the same dudes who went to the NFC championship 4 years in a row, and, as also stated earlier, know better than to think about anything that happened in the regular season. You've also got to love the fact that they had about a snowball's chance in hell of playing in this game, so the pressure's off, and that's definitely when Donovan McNabb is at his best.
What scares me about the Vikings however, is the line play, on both sides of the ball, that freak of nature Adrian Peterson, and that other freak of nature Jared Allen.
What doesn't scare me however, is the thought of Tavaris Jackson staring down the barrel of about 25 Jim Johnson dialed-up exotic blitz packages.
The aforementioned lack of line movement despite the public's hammering of the Eagles is definitely worrisome, but still I can't help but think that experience and seasoning will be the difference in this game.
So let me just holler out a GO EAGLES for right now and chew on whether or not to sit this one out and find another game to play that my heart's not attached to.
Either way, I sure hope you Eagles backers are right.

wow, these predictions are all over the place. I'm actually a little nervous with this. Normally, I would say play the over/under, but I'm not even sure about that.
all I have to say is.....Tjack. Yeah Mcnabb is known for choking, but that's in the NFC title game or SB. not the 1st round. I would have a hard time leaning on Adrian Peterson and a potential fumble, Tavaris Jackson playing a smidge better than a VInce Young, and knowing that this MInn team doesn't have half the playoff experience that Philly has. THat's alot of negatives right there. Philly looks like they have corrected some of their negatives such as the play calling not being balanced. This could very well be a Minn upset. I just wouldn't bet my hard earned money on it. GL

Eagles vs. Vikings +3 (3 units) - after last nights Colts loss I decided to bump this pick up to 3 units instead of 2 units. Yesterday we saw both home teams pull out a win despite the public being overwhelmingly on the road team. Today we have more of the same, both road teams are favored and the public is liking them just as much as yesterday. Minnesota is one of the few NFL teams left that actually has a good stadium for crowd noise, loudness, etc that provides them with the advantage. The Vikings are 6-2 at home, while the Eagles are 3-4 on the road this year. Philly comes in as one of the hottest teams in the league, and I really hate going against them here. I also hate siding with Tavaris Jackson but because of the situation I must. Sports Insights shows the public backing Philly at 79% and the lines not moving since open (except for the waivering juice).

Phancard and other threaders...I am seeing a lot of people on both the Ravens and Eagles threads warning about taking road favorites based on yesterday's play and that home teams are the way to go. I believe the two road team winners were even DOGS, not favorites.
If we could pick winners by just merely taking the home teams we wouldn't need to read all the advice and opinions on these threads. Just bet the home teams and win. Well, its not the easy either.
I am still leaning on the Ravens and Eagles but the one main thing that keeps me from pulling the trigger is that they are playing on the road.

Excellent points. THe only thing i can say is that ESPN mentioned tod that Mcnabb is 5-0 in his 1st game in the playoffs (I didn't know if that meant wildcard or div rounds, but 5-0 is 5-0). That's Andy Reid and Mcnabb. How many playoff wins does Brad Childress and Tjack have together? just a thought

Philly wins this game. Many say Philly isn't even deserving to be in........I say it's Minny that doesn't deserve it. Minny is 6-10 ATS, Philly 10-6 ATS in a much, much better division. The rest of the NFC north was a combined 15-33!!! Minny went 3-3 against playoff teams while Philly went 4-2 beating Pitts brains out, dominating NYG in second game, spanking Arizona and taking care of Atlanta. Minny can't Pass, ranking 25th in the league and aren't anything but middle of the road in overall offense, ranked at 17th. Philly ranks 9th in offense, even with the well documented struggles over a month stretch for McNabb. They are 3rd in Def, 3rd against the run and 4th against the pass and 4th in points allowed. Oh, and rank 6th in scoring!!!!
This is a mismatch from the word go!! I don't see either home team today getting it done.

I am with you on this one as well. While most on these two threads are going with the home teams BECAUSE yesterday they were the plays (by the way I had both Zona and SD as well as the under on the SD game a nice 3-0) we hopefully will be watching that trend reverse while the two more dominant road teams, who played much better schedules this year, who both have SPENDID ATS records this year, better defenses, etc, etc..bring home the bacon.
I don't like going with the public, playing road teams, especially when they are laying points but I have to go with who I think will cover the spread. By the way, I will truly be rooting for Miami as I would love to see them win, I just can't lay my money on them as I don't think they are the better team based on who they have played this year versus Baltimore's schedule. Miami's last 10 games were against non playoff teams and the one before that was against the Ravens, who they lost to.
