Hey I like Manning like the most of you but this Jets team has me wary. Still like my teaser as the Colts haven't won by more than 14 since Oct 25th against St. Louis and the under trend will continue until the Saints/Vikings. These teams will run clock and protect the ball but move just enough to change field position.

Historically great defenses win Championships...I gotta lean towards the better D.....I'm going Jets +8.5

Jets won't win this game. Not on Peyton Manning's playground. Why would the spread be more than 8? The Jets are coming off a big win in San Diego and giving them 7.5 is a gift in the eyes of the public bettor. In my opinion the Colts will win this game by 13-16 points and Jets backers will only cover if they get a late TD..and backdoor their way in. The Colts are sick and tired of hearing about how they sat their starters and lost to the Jets and this is why they have this match up. Peyton is a beast and will not lose.

Historically great defenses win championships only when they are a great team. 

This great defense didn't matter in the loss to  Buffalo, Atlanta (only 4 games ago), Miami (2x) in the same season.

What makes anyone think this team is going to be able to beat or cover against a colts team that everyone knows is the best team.

Baltimore and Dallas great defenses sitting at home with thier johnsons in thier hands.   Buffalo's great pass defense (# 2 in NFL behind Jets) sure didn't win championships.

Rex Ryan better watch his mouth or his flapping will backfire and piss off the best team in the nfl

Colts are likely to be sick and tired of a lot of things.  1) that they sat thier starters 2) Jets worldbeater defense (that lost to buffalo, miami, atlanta, jax) 3) rex ryan practicing his hall of fame acceptance speech 4) "momentum" story.  ask dallas about trying to ride the momentum.

Gotta believe the Jets' game plan is run, run, run... not only is the ground game NY's bread-and-butter (lining up today against the NFL's #25 rush defense)... but, it'll also, of course, keep the clock running... and keep Manning on the sidelines.

When the Colt offense is on the field... it'll be a chess match against Rex Ryan's #1 tough-as-nails defense.

The relatively low total suggests that the Colts are in for a struggle today against a "D" that's allowed under 91/2 ppg L8.  Hell, the NFL's most potent offense, the Saints, only squeezed out 10 points in the Superdome when they hosted this Jet team in Week 4. (Saints scored 24 that game... which included two TDs by their defense... a 99-yd INT return and falling on a Sanchez fumble in the end zone.)

I'm betting that points will be at a premium in this game... a game in which:  1) Manning will be under center  2) playing on his home field  3) where Indy's 8-0 ATS in Manning-led home play-off games.

Don't tell me the Bengals or the Chargers have near the punch of the Colts at home. By the way, the Chargers were the better team last week but Norv and Nate sealed the Chargers fate.
