    New Orleans - 23                                Seattle - 20

    Seahawks +10.5                            under 44.5

Pete Carroll, Qwest Field, Saints have injuries, 10.5 is a bit much even for super bowl champs to cover. It will be important for the Hawks to score first, if that happens this one could be close.

Sure Saints have injuries, Jim, but I don't get what this means?  They have been plug-and-play all season and no one who is injured isn't replaced currently by someone capable.

Seattle can't run the ball.  They couldn't even run it against the crap Rams.  If you can't run the ball = no time off the clock and poor 3rd Down Conversation rate.  Brees will see the field often then and it is only a matter of time before he keeps cashing in over and over again.

Saints -10.5 and Saints in a teaser as well.

Every Seahawk loss has been by at least 15 points.

    Home 17, 17, 30, home 34, 15, home 18, 19, home 16 and 23 points.

This is a bad team, give them +10.5, Saint will cover.
Good teams win games, Great teams cover the spread!

Seattle has two key injuries also- starting guard and TE both will be out for the game.

SEA +10.5: Everybody and his mother's brother will be on Brees and the Saints. Hmmmm, a team against the world playing at home with arguably the best HFA in the league, with double d, or at least 10 points. Maybe the Saints will take them lightly too? The Seahawks don't have anything to prove, since they don't "belong" at the dance,...OR DO THEY? but sneaked in through the back door...i like that incentive. i might have to jump on the Seahawks...with the double d's.

Seems like New Orleans is the easy play but that crowd, in that stadium, against a team that has nothing to lose really is making me nervous.

NO is the dominant team overall so I may just tease this with the JETS...jets, jets jets.

Potentially NYJ+9. and NO-4 depending on line moves.

    So.......................................................

Do you like Saints ML, or -10.5 Large? Why would you bet both? I would just take the Saints ML "extra large" then.....

Anyways - don't even worry about the Saints and Seahawks listed as "questionable" - just assume they'll all play, because they all will, including Elizabeth. Now, having said that, hasn't Qwest Field (and Arrowhead in K.C.) been rated as like the loudest places to play in all of sports? I remember hearing that stat somewhere.

Finally, even if you knew nothing about either team - just the following alone should solidify your pick:

A double digit home dog in the playoffs - that's it.

Saints probably win, but no way do they cover basically 2 touchdowns (or a touchdown and 2 field goals) - good luck everybody

History suggests that despite Seattle being horrible in the regular season they still have a shot in the playoffs especially playing at home with the best homefield advantage in the league. Remember the Cardinals a couple of years ago?

    CONFUSING FACTOID:
According to an article on Covers the line is set expecting Whitehurst to start, with Hasselbeck it's a FG or so lower. I personally don't see the big difference whether or not Whitehurst or Hasselbeck starts.
On the other hand, the books expect the public to bet on New Orleans towards game time which would move the line giving Seattle even more points (unless an early announced Hasselbeck start moves the line to +7.5).

My suggestion: put a few units on Seattle now and bet more if the line moves to +13 come game time.

Somewhat agree HOH  Saints do OK even with the injuries, except in a game like this Shockey, Thomas, Graham and Colston not 100% has me liking the double digits. When I watch a Saints game one of those names is mentioned on every offensive play in the game. I'm thinking the Saints will be happy with a win and get out of Seattle without any additional injuries. I'll probably get crushed but I'll lose my money on the Hawks.

Saints don't have to play their best game to cover against the Seahawks. Chances are good Seahawks don't score. The Giants beat them 3-34 and that 3 came off of a TO.

So if you're style is betting against the public that's ok but just what is going to make it happen for the upset/cover? Their running game? Their passing game? This is a playoff game so why should the Saints take it lightly? They'll go for the kill shot early and game will be over by halftime.

Sorry in this particular matchup that's positively NOT sound strategy .

Seahawks are that bad my man n' you could be looking at a swift double dollar death.

Saints are quite capable of shutting down Seattle, winning by 2 TD's.

I would have to take the saints in this one. The line is sharp and im not buying the seahawks having the "best" homefield advantage in the league. Their 3 losses at home were blowouts to balanced tactical offenses which we all know the saints have.

But besides my logic my main reason i cant bet on seattle is my cardinal rule,i never put my money on bad teams which the seahawks clearly are.

March to the bank wit the saints -10.5

Some other points to consider: Saints are 3-9 ATS as double-digit favorites under Sean Payton...they only blew out Carolina and Buccs once this year.  I only fade the public if i think the situation is right, that's my story and i'm sticking to it.... i'll take the points.

Saints will score and take the crowd out of the game

Seattle will eventually have to press on offense and the turnovers will start to happen

Everyone's betting like they already know the score even though the Saint offensive skill players are banged up and they routinely lose ATS as large favorites. No one is giving the Seahawks a chance.  I'd rather go with a team with nothing to lose vs. a team with the pressure to win.  Remember the Saints nearly lost to Cincy Dec 5th and went down to defeat at Baltimore on Dec. 19th, both outdoor parks- and we all know Qwest will be abnormally loud.  While the Saints are the better team, i just see the upset in the offing.. anyway... Ok, I'm a Hawks fan but in no way a homer when betting my hard earned cash.  I rode the Hawks huge when they played AZ at home.  I faded them big time against NYG and ATL at home.  I also faded them vs. TB 2 weeks ago.  I hit them on the ML on Sunday so I think I have a very good angle on this team.

    Here's what we're lookin' at.

First of all the guy above that said we lost our starting guard and TE is incorrect.  Carlson is our starting TE not Chris Baker and the guard that got hurt was Chester Pitts and he only came in when Okung went to the sidelines so Seattle didn't lose any starters.

The guy above that said Seattle couldn't run the ball against the Rams, check the numbers, they ran for 141 yards on Sunday.

Now my thoughts on the game.  First and foremost, this game is being played OUTSIDE, IN SEATTLE, IN JANUARY, AGAINST A DOME TEAM.  Check the weather, it's supposed to be totally crappy.  I don't know if any of you guys got to see the first game week 11 but Hasselbeck had one of his best days as a passer with over 300 yards, Seattle's problem is they couldn't convert in the red zone.  There also were a couple of major BS penalties that went the Saints way in that game.

With that being said this game has all the ingredients for an upset and I'm using what I've seen on the field, not my loyalty to my team.  The weather, the short week, the travel and the loud home field advantage plus the Saints coming off of a loss and Seattle riding high after last week, I think there is an 80% chance the Hawks cover the 10 (the Saints will just be happy to get out with the win) and a 50% the win SU.  Good luck to you all.
