Lions large in this one for me. Green bay is coming off an overtime tie to hapless minnesota, and although detroit lost to tampa if not for 5 turnovers they would have won that game with ease. They outgained tampa by a 2-1 margin, holding tampa to 38 rushing yards and 220 total yards.

Green bay will likely call upon matt flynn to lead the helm but this is a good thing for us. He wasn't good enough to beat out terrel pryor, matt mccloin, or jeff tuel of all people . He was effective in the fourth quarter only because minnesota went into prevent mode. Detroit is a far more talented team than minnesota and i believe flynn will struggle big time against this detroit front four.

A very interesting side note, teams coming off overtime games on 3 days rest are 1-12 ats in the nfl. Add to  that that green bay has to play on the road at an early start time on thanksgiving and all signs point to an absolutely gassed team that will run out of gas in the second half against this talent laden lion team.

Lions -5.5 game of the week for me.

Lions, because of the short week, it's divisional, it's the Turkey Tradition, no A-Rod, and if they win, they sit alone on top of the NFC North.

Hopefully, the Lions don't PLAY like they normally do on Thanksgiving! I don't know their Turkey Day record, but it just has to be more losses than wins.....

    Loins by a TD.....

Lions haven't won Thanksgiving since 2003. That was against Green Bay... Do they finally break their losing curse?? They just might..

Lions win by 4 but don't cover.. might take GB to cover and possible upset...but tat over time game has GB at a disadvantage
Sip on that plus money honey!

I think Lions stats you gotta throw out for the past ten years..remember they had the dummest Kielbasa in the universe running things, Matt Milllen!! Now with that being said Schwarz and Stafford are the biggest looooosers around so ehhh. Gbay is destroyed. Problem is Lions love to find ways to screw up.Hopefully Ill be drunk enough by gametime to forget who I pick!!!

Lions coach Schwartz is Green Bay's best weapon in this one , but yeah you're right....we're talking about Matt Flynn here !  Wish I could switch my covers league pick..

Green bay will likely call upon matt flynn to lead the helm but this is a good thing for us. He wasn't good enough to beat out terrel pryor, matt mccloin, or jeff tuel of all people .      for some reason I have a gut feeling Reggie Bush will have a breakout game. He hasn't been the same since the beginning of the season but shows up in primetime games. Lions brought Bush in for a reason to win games like these

Then I go and check how Green Bay has fared in run defense and it's not as good as I thought. They have given up about 150-200 yds rushing in 4 of the last 5 games

Sip on that plus money honey!

sorry, 3 out of the last 4 games. Packers stopped Bush the 1st time around, not sure if they can do it twice. Only thing keeping this close will be sloppy mistakes from the Lions..

Forget GB's recent struggles under the inept
    Tolzien 1/5 TD/INT - 66.8 QB rating
GB owns the Lions regardless of who starts. Flynn wasn't in Oakland long enough to learn the system and become productive, but then again can anyone excel there? Flynn can and will produce this week with GB. Anyone know what kind of numbers he had last time he started against the Lions? Matt Flynn 31/44 480yds 6TD 1INT and that was I believe only his 2nd NFL start. Besides, the teams that have beaten the Pack lately can run the ball. Something the Lions can't do. Another thing they can't do is stop the run. The pack will run for a buck fifty and Flynn will toss 3 or 4 TDs as the Lions drop another Thanksgiving game. Sure GB may run out of gas in the 4th quarter but it will be too late for Detroit by then.

I don't know if any of you have been to a game at FORD FIELD but I have been to plenty.  We will see how MR FLYNN does in a domed stadium that gets so loud FLYNN will think he is calling signals behind a 747 jet engine your going to hear a lot of offense false starts.   He's not playing at Lambeau field now against a nothing Viking team and a friendly crowd he's playing at a rowdy Ford Field against a defence that will try to eat him for lunch.  Keep your head up and your feet moving MR FLYNN.  Lions win by at least 7.    Lions loss to TBAY last week was a look ahead game to their most hated foe the GREEN BAY PACKERS.  GLA

I guess that is why Detroit has such a dominant home record including 9 straight home losses on Thanksgiving. Home or away, the Lions are not a team to bet as a 6+ favorite.
    Sunday 12/16/12 @ Arizona L 10-38 Week 15 L -6 O 43.5
    Sunday 12/02/12 Indianapolis L 33-35 Week 13 L -7 O 51
    Sunday 11/04/12 @ Jacksonville W 31-14 Week 9 W -6 O 44
    Sunday 09/09/12 St. Louis W 27-23 Week 1 L -9 O 46
    Sunday 01/01/12 @ Green Bay L 41-45 Week 17 L -6.5O 41.5  /\Flynn's second start as GB rests starters
Sunday 12/11/11 Minnesota W 34-28 Week 14 L -10O 47 GB is up 31-13 in the 4th and maybe Det scores a couple garbage TDs and a 2 point conversion, only to lose 31-28. Of course, Detroit plays dirty and if they knock Flynn out the pack will be in trouble because they have other option at QB. They won't risk Rodgers getting hurt here.

You're welcome. I used to do it a lot years ago when I had more time. But I got tired of the haters when I was on the losing end which happens to us all despite how well we cap the games. I hear a lot of talk about the Lions shooting themselves in the foot lately and how that will all change. But the same team will take the field. The pack has been self destructing with a turnover machine at QB but make a change this week. Good Luck.

Remember when I predicted the Lions collapse and a bunch of dorks called me out for it? . I think the Lions might take this one but it should be close, i'll take the Packers +6
