     So........... Stay away from Dallas / Oakland, stay away from this game, what are you going to bet on on Thanksgiving? Who gets the bigger piece of the turkey wishbone? The over / under on how many beers your crazy uncle Jim will drink?

     I like you Pro-Z, so here's a freebee for you. Packers, all day. Put in Culpepper, put in whoever you want - there's just way too much offense for these Lions to handle. They barely beat friggin Cleveland last week for God's sake!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't touch this one just yet.  If Stafford and Calvin Johnson are good to go, I'm leaning towards Lions +10.5.  If not, I will lay the points with the Pack despite their awful O-line.  Game time decision for me probably.

 

Last season I took a look at the Lions history on Thanksgiving Day. Surprisingly, their record is pretty good. It is especially good vs non-dome teams.

One bet I will make is Det teased with the total

Green Bay / Over   will get your Thanksgiving off to a good start

Green Bay wins but Detriot will cover, Lions will either have a good game or another bad Thanksgiving. GL!

Note: GB is in the Playoff hunt so expect Packers to do alittle damage, if not, they are not a playoff contender.

Wow.  With analysis like that, how could you possibly lose a bet?

Quite frankly, I thought about using Green Bay as my survivor pick this week.  But something scared me off of them.

I don't know, Detroit might surprise this week.  Before the Millen train wreck, the Lions treated the Thanksgiving game like their Super Bowl.  If they come out with that mentality this Thursday, as their season is already a moot point, Green Bay might have all they can handle.  Besides, nobody has to convince anybody at how up-and-down Green Bay has been this year.  One week looking like Playoff contenders, the next looking like the Browns in Green and Yellow.

The Stafford or Culpepper decision makes this all the more hard to gauge.

I took Dallas instead.

GB -9: without Stafford, the Packers will roll. The Lions are historically bad on Thanksgiving, going 1-6 ATS as the home team host since 2002, including some DD dogs.  Normally, in division games i'd take the double digit dog, but in this case, on a short week with Stafford out, the Lions will be embarrassed on national television... once again.

too many points for a hurt team. i still don't want to touch this..

Lions +11, Cowboys -13.5, & Broncos +7

Call it a hunch, but I think the Cowboys are the only favorite that covers Thanksgiving. I live in Dallas and yes I am a fan of Dallas, but I am a much bigger fan of money. 

Vegas sets a line based on trends/consensus, among other things. What is the most watched day in FOOTBALL, minus the superbowl? Thanksgiving... Everyone and their brother/uncle/aunt/etc.. will be putting a little $$ on the games, so the only thing left to do is go against the grain.

Dallas- Cowboys score 7 against Washington, Oakland beats the Bengals. The perfect lead into Thursday's game... Hence, the line is set at 13.5. (Makes you second guess those Cowboys, right?)

Detroit- Greenbay plays well enough to win at home against the 49ers and the Lions win by a point against the browns at home. Greenbay shoulda, woulda, coulda beat the Lions on Thanksgiving, but the Packers will have a short fall and the Lions will play like there is no tomorrow, with or without Stafford. (I'd almost rather have Culpepper, with my play)

Denver- Broncos have fallen off the map. Giants had fallen off the map until they beat Atlanta in OT. (Not saying Atlanta is some super team, but had the Giants lost to Atlanta off a bye, WOW) Broncos got murdered at home against a solid AFC opponent. It seems like the Broncos have lost their home field advantage, Pittsburgh & now SD?? Now a falsely lifted Giants team comes strolling in to take it's turn at the fallen Broncos. The Broncos will tighten up this game and may win outright. Eli vs. Broncos secondary makes for a looooooong plane ride home for Eli. (Just saying) 

I'm not posting this on all three threads to waste space. Just my take on how things will pan out this Thursday. Put a small play on the parlay and you might be suprised.

 I got to have sum parlay action on Thanksgiving. even if Detroit seems to always get blown out on Thanksgiving, I'll still take a shot with Detroit+10.5 against a banged up packer team. Dante culpepper does have a good amount of overall N.F.L. experience. I'd rather rely on a dante culp on a Thanksgiving holiday home game than rely on qbs like Boller or campbell during regular sunday games! besides the Packers fucked me last week!! now I'm going to play that 3 teamer just for Turkey~Gobble revenge. yea right the only thing gettin gobbled is my cash!
