surprised at the respect AZ is getting from the odds makers esp with the lackluster way they finished the season. More time needed before a decision is made....early lean towards ATL

You can't possibly consider Atlanta's performance last week vs Rams, for the game meant next-to nothing for them, and most all 22 starters were rested by the start of the second half. The Rams kept it interesting for the sole sake of Jim Haslett perhaps ridding himself of the interim tag.
Atlanta's D has been deceptively impressive - even when their lack of depth in the secondary hasn't been completely exploited. Admittedly, there hasn't been a true test since Brees. Now, K Warner will have his day, and he does, indeed, perform when hosting in the post-season.
What's most crucial is just how the Falcons can neutralize the Cards passing (by at least rivalling in scoring with Turner, Norwood, and R White balanced in).
Between Arrington, Edgerrin James, and the rookie Hightower, the Cards running game is a true mess. It will be a true non-factor, and this is precisely how the Falcons can escape with a win.

The Cards had one lame duck home game this season versus Minnesota. They allowed Tavaris Jackson to pick their DBs apart.
Matt Ryan is in another class entirely.

Can't see Arizona showing up here, and I don't think these two teams will achieve the Over, despite most every Cards home game getting that this season (7 of 8).
    Not this one:

    Atlanta 24
    Arizona 20

    Taunted,

I think you are right on.  The reason I really like what you are saying is because I believe the Cards run game checked out quite a while ago.  Edge is already asking out of Arizona.  He claims he was not brought to Arizona to block...and when your backs don't block for you it will make it a long day for the quarterback...

Taunted...where do you get Atl rested their starters in the 2nd half.  I watched that game and thought I must have missed something.  They didn't rest any starters.  They couldn't stop Steven Jackson enough to give anyone rest.

If Edgerrin plays a decent game, Atl might be in for a long afternoon.  Time of possession and turnovers is where this one is decided.  Atl is due for a loss...Cards limping.

    Close game here.

Last minute field goal is where this one ends.  Elam is a better kicker than Rackers.  Edge Atl

    Atl 24 - Ari 23

    Go Falcons!

    Atlanta 24
    Arizona 20

Neither team has an outstanding defense which then usually means the game comes down to offense and especially the QB. The Falcons run the ball better but Arizona has a huge advantage with Warner and the receivers.

All Arizona has to do is win...and the fact they are getting points at home in a playoff game versus a team playing with a rookie QB is all I need to bet the Cards.

The Cards are a different team at home, they are disgraceful on the road but much much better at home.

At first glance Atlanta seems like the correct play, but thats how Vegas wins money. Over 60% of the public betting on atlanta and yet the line drops from +3 to +1. THEY WANT THE PUBLIC BETTING ON ATLANTA.

This same line movement has happened in the osu/ou game, the ole miss/tt game, & the utah/bama game.

Watch this line drop another half pt as the sharps put late money on zona & i'm going with sharps.  romo-

Atlanta has kept good teams at bay all year and they played in the stronger division.  I believe their defense is underated and is solid against the pass.

Also, I think there is a strong confidence angle in this game regardless of location; Atlanta is coming in with tons of it and Arizona has been fading as of late.  Not going to worry about who vegas wants me to bet on in this one.

ARI last 2 wins were against seatle and STL. They also lost to MIN whom the FALCONS beat.   I like the ATL and the over

I have said it before, and I will say it again.

TEAMS PLAY A DIFFERENT KIND OF FOOTBALL GAME DURING THE PLAY OFFS!

Arizona has been taking it easy since locking up the NFC West. They are rested and ready.

Atlanta has been playing with a lot of intensity, no doubt! But have they used up all of their valuable energy too early?

Zona normally gets a quick start in the 1st half of games at home. Warner has the experience in post season play. Can't decide on which play I like better so I'll go with both...

    Cards at the half pk

    Over 51

Aloha and good luck to all

Feeling the Over here! Shitty D backs and slinging QB's.  MIght make a small play on the Cards at the half.

At first glance I thought Arizona, but how can you pick the Cards.

    Recent Trends to Consider:

    • Falcons are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games as a road favorite of 0.5-3.0.
    • Falcons are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games following a ATS loss.
    • Falcons are 13-5 ATS in their last 18 games on grass.
    • Falcons are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games as a favorite of 0.5-3.0.
    • Cardinals are 2-7 ATS in their last 9 games as an underdog.
    • Cardinals are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games after accumulating more than 250 yards passing in their previous game.
    • Cardinals are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games as an underdog of 0.5-3.0.
    • Cardinals are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games after allowing less than 90 yards rushing in their previous game

This isn't a matchup that suites Atlanta.  I've have been a big fan of theirs all year and made some money on them as well.....but this isn't a good spot for them.  First of all........the travel......second of all......the pass defense doesn't match up well.  Lastly, Arizona is one of those teams that is totally different when they play at home.  This will be the only game they win.......but I will be on Arizona this week and fading them on the road next.  I also like the over here.  I believe Agent0 said it earlier......7-1 on the OVER at home.......gotta take it.

You have a NFC South team @ 11-5 vs NFC West team @ 9-7. What do you think the records would be if you put the Falcons in the west conference and Arizona in the South?

    Have to lean Atlanta here.

Crod - I don't place a lot of weight on trends. Each game is different and is about how teams match up with one another. I think we are on for a show and a Cardinal win.
