    'We shall respond,' Biden says
after US troops killed in Middle East

    CNN -
US President Joe Biden vowed to hold "to account"
those responsible for a drone attack on a US outpost
in Jordan, which killed three US Army soldiers and
injured at least 34, marking the first time US troops
have been killed by enemy fire in the Middle East
since the beginning of the Gaza war.

US Central Command confirmed the deaths and said
eight personnel had to be medically evacuated from
Jordan. The number of wounded is expected to rise.

I've mentioned collateral damage & friendly fire during war time. Accidents do indeed happen & they happen more that you think.  Agent Orange was the "friendliest" of fire our soldiers experienced in the late 60's & early 70's..

Those on duty who didn't distinguish the recent drone strike to have been launched by those who want to kill them will remember it for the rest of their lives. These soldiers are at a very high stress level & personally I believe they all should be reassigned to other duties at different locations. They will never be the same.

Incidents like this cause some to become "trigger happy" & with today's weapons that would be a disaster.

That was a good conversation had by kc & wall regarding "unifiers". So I gave it some thought & the only person that came to mind was deceased Bill Richardson, former Governor of New Mexico. How sad is that? My best choice is a dead guy!

Someone will rise to the top. Something will bring us together.

I just hope it's not another war.

So, 135+ attacks by these Iranian proxies on U.S. forces since Oct. 7, and Sec. Blinken is " shocked and horrified"  at the 3 servicemembers killed.

Did you really think we would be so lucky,  forever  ?

We have sheer incompetence across this Administration  ; Biden, Blinken, Kirby,.... all dunces that put this country at greater risk of a wider war because of weak policies,  responses.  Their Policy of Appeasement by releasing billions of dollars to Iran earlier has completely backfired in a big way..  What good that did.  an_drunksick

News are out that the Biden Regime offered through the Swiss Embassy to Iran that the US strikes one of their sites but Iran "should not retaliate" .

This would allow the US "to save face" .

    WTF ?

Pathetic weakness as expected from Obama 2.0 , sick in love with Iran , still after "the deal"

The Biden Regime makes the US a total joke on the World stage .

May God protect our forces in the Middle East , the Biden Regime will not

FJB is now on day 3 with no response as of yet 11:00am Jordan local time.  He waited 48 hours to contact the families of the 3 soldiers, the names were released on the radio more than 12 hours before Joe picked up the phone.

    @Midnight1

Someone will rise to the top. Something will bring us together.

I just hope it's not another war.

I am hard pressed to believe that even a hot war with Iran / pick your middle eastern country would have such an impact to accomplish this.  War will not "bring us together" as the reasons for any such war these days are not reasons to heal the divide.  If anything, think late 60s/early 70s style civil unrest / divide over "the War".

A 9/11 style event would illicit a similar national response in the immediate aftermath..... the truth over the details that would inevitably follow would be vastly different than our 2001 social construct.

I dont think the US population will back a Middle East invasion to support Israel when their military is attacking their enemies and going on the offensive when it is not warranted. The longer we stand back and let Israel push forward the worse it will be for the US and Europe. Shocking that Israel has zero intentions of backing down or settling the region in any fashion, their objective is to drag the US and Europe into their aggressive attack and use this opportunity to take our weapons and soldiers for their religious warfare. How can any politician rally this mess given that unlike with Iraq the public will not get snowed and lied to, now we have access to much faster and accurate sources of media and reporting than trusting Bush and Cheney when they lie to our faces to obtain their objective.

And the Israel plot continues down the obvious road...now the UK is getting involved, how can this end in a good way? The only way this works out is if Israel backs off and stops offensively attacking their enemies and seeks a peaceful path, we are being played again right now.

    @wallstreetcappers

Cappers, you're talking about the war against terrorist.

israel’s military on Saturday issued its most detailed warning yet to Hezbollah in neighboring Lebanon that it would be “ready to attack immediately” if provoked, as it recounted its actions along the northern border during four months of war in Gaza and made a rare acknowledgement of dozens of airstrikes inside Syria against the militant group.

We do not choose war as our first priority, but we are certainly prepared,” military spokesperson Daniel Hagari said, adding: “We will continue to act wherever Hezbollah is present, we will continue to act wherever it is required in the Middle East. What is true for Lebanon is true for Syria, and is true for other more distant places.

Israel says it is determined to crush Hamas and prevent it from returning to power in Gaza, an enclave it has ruled since 2007, in response to its Oct. 7 attack on Israel that triggered the war.

I can only imagine when that day will come

Iran has called US air strikes on Iraq and Syria a "strategic mistake"
after 85 targets were hit across the region on Friday.

    BBC NEWS -

The US launched retaliatory strikes in response to last week's
drone attack on a US military base that killed three American soldiers.

The White House blamed the drone attack on an Iran-backed militia group.

The US and UK also launched a new round of joint strikes on Houthi targets in Yemen on Saturday.

    @fubah2

IRAN is right, it is a big mistake, we are being pulled into a mess which we cannot afford and cannot win. Paving the way for Israel to destroy their enemies is not what we are required to do and we are entering a religious fight which has roots for thousands of years. Maybe Biden and the military know it, maybe not but this set up we are going to regret if it goes forward.

I would likely support another candidate if the one I was considering was in favor of forwarding a war supporting Israel in THIS fashion, if the other candidate would guarantee we step out of this scenario I would potentially support that one just for that reason alone. I consider this path to be so destructive and wrong it is that important.

If Trump were to win I am not convinced he would have the backbone and ability to avoid the situation, he can talk like he would but I have zero evidence or confidence he would actually make those decisions.

"If you harm an American, WE WILL RESPOND!"

President Joe Biden said on Friday he had directed military strikes on facilities in Iraq and Syria affiliated with the terrorist groups that attacked U.S. forces and said the response would continue.

"Our response began today. It will continue
at times and places of our choosing,"
    Biden said in a statement.
"The United States does not seek conflict in the Middle East or anywhere else in the world. But ...let all those who might seek to do us harm know this: If you harm an American, WE WILL RESPOND!"

We were harmed because we are backing an offensive ally, we put our nose in the middle of a conflict which BOTH parties feel the OTHER started. Israel feels their enemies started this, their enemies as a collective feel Israel did, does and always will continue this path. We should not be in the middle of their fight especially in that region.

This Biden response is a typical GOP war mongering response, it is what Bush said to lure the US to Iraq, it is a false narrative that we are creating, we stepped into this intentionally knowing the odds would be that the other side would respond. That does not mean that they attacked US...we entered a conflict zone and thus we were part of the situation, that does not mean they attacked us.

Cannot possibly agree with this more!  The USA has a right to defend itself and should whenever attacked.  We've been attacked over 150 times in recent months but this most recent incident the terrorists took American military lives.

I’d rather send all those old men who stand to profit handsomely from these wars the assault rifles and send them out there to fight and get bullet holed up to the point where they are unrecognizable .

And I’m not sure that you will get a counter to the point that you made at the beginning of your post because things seem to be topsy turvy right now . The mounting pressure of answering and asking the right questions , to the correct people , and doing what is just , is increasing with each and every second . The good people always feel that .
