Yeah I read about this....  didn't really think it was worthy of posting though.   I thought we all agreed that we don't care about what any celebrity has to say about politics.

Guess Bernie didn't get the memo cause if Hillary is indicted by the doj then Bernie is the dem elect and will defeat Trump. A Hillary and all her baggage if she cements the division and added Bernie Sanders to the role of VP defeats Trump. Massive wagers are made for Hillary Clinton and she is currently negative 350 that is as solids as Arietta facing the Astros in real money.

You've got to be the dumbest....nope you're not gonna bait me into saying it. DL36 I'm not stumped at all, you just can't understand that some people, ulike yourself, take a break from life to post on covers. We don't spend 23 hours a day worrying about watching covers forums.

Not everyone will feel the need to spend 3 hours bumping old threads of enemies to try and mzke them look bad.

Come to think about it...nobody on covers has half as many enemies as you do. Why do you think that is?

This is taken out of context somewhat. Of course USA leads in all major economic categories.  For example, GDP per capita is around 7x-8x China's. China is the worlds largest exporter.  That is about it. Because of their population and vast room to grow since they were so stagnant, economists have been predicting them to obviously become the world's top economy. They just have too many drawbacks.  They made great strides since the reforms of the late '70s. But slowly the problems have caught up to them. As Japan tapered off, so China is tapering off. Sheer population can only carry you so far. There are multiple economic studies on this if you get interested. Maybe they will make some adjustments in the future but it doesn't look likely at this point.

I too am shocked that you would use China as an example of a Government success.

Have you ever seen a smile on a Chinese face of an average person living and working in China?

Have you seen the process one goes through just to get on a massively overcrowded train to go cross country?

Do you think China wouldn't be better in almost every way if they had a democracy style government?

I got news for you buddy...If China was a democracy, they'd be the world police and we'd be submissive to their every whim.

You should be smart enough to see that everywhere communism has been tried it has failed.

Oh so you might say that North Korea hasn't failed...come on! REALLY?

I do not claim China's economy is perfect - far from it.  Their economy suffers from many of the same shortcomings that the U.S. does - concentration of wealth, imperiled banks, greenlighted projects that had no actual economic merit, social and geographical inequalities, among others.  Their record on pollution control is appalling, as if labor doesn't matter.

But China has experienced vast growth in global market share and a rising middle class while the U.S. has been declining in both cases.

I'm glad raiders is rushing in as usual playing defense.

Dogbite,  I think China is a hard comparison because they have moved toward more of an American mindset in their business and investments.  So some would say the shift to a mode of American greed in an environment with no regulations like the gw bush years is what has resulted in a lot of their current problems.

So rather than contrasting China with America, I think that there are a lot of comparisons of similarities to make your point.  China is still figuring it out too
