Russia has reportedly lost more than 650 tanks and about 3,000 other armored vehicles and heavy equipment so far in its invasion of Ukraine. Experts put the losses down to the advanced anti-tank weapons given to Ukraine by Western countries, poor strategy, low morale, and important design flaws.

Ukraine says Russia has lost almost 1,200 tanks, a number that we cannot verify. However, the military and intelligence blog Oryx, which counts Russian military equipment losses in Ukraine based on photographs sent from the front lines, says Russia has lost 664 tanks (as of May 13, 2022) and about 3,000 other armored vehicles and heavy equipment so far.

Besides Sen. Rand Paul's grandstanding delay of urgent $40B U.S. aid to Ukraine, it's good to see bipartisan support from the GOP senate delegate visiting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Finland's President contacted Putin to alert him to the fact that his invasion of Ukraine altered the security environment of the region prompting his country to join NATO. Putin in turn warned that would be a mistake.

The war is in the 80th day.

This is significant from British military intelligence, Russia may have lost 1/3 of combat forces it has sent in Ukraine.*

U.S. lead's West has supplied heavy and top of the line combat weaponry to Ukraine forces. We can safely say the number of Wester Nations vs Russian Federation, perhaps 40-1, if we don't count Belarus or China in. Which means a lopsided tilt against Vladimir Putin's mother Russia.

This piece of news is also very encouraging to the Ukrainians, German Federal Foreign Affairs Minister Annalena Baerbock says NATO allies to help Ukraine as long as needed.

NATO is more determined to assist Ukraine, also Finland and Sweden are about to apply for accession to the NATO. Vladimir Putin's attempt to weaken and split NATO has became a pipe dream. Also, formal pres. Donald Trump privately said he wanted to withdraw from the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.(*)

African countries are among those hoping to increase their exports of gas to the European Union, after the EU committed to reduce its reliance on Russian supplies following the invasion of Ukraine.

Russia's suspension of deliveries to Poland and Bulgaria over their refusal to pay in roubles, the Russian currency, was a stark reminder of the threat facing the Eurozone. Russia has the largest natural gas reserves in the world and is the largest exporter, accounting for around 40% of Europe's imports.

The EU wants to cut supplies by two-thirds by the end of the year and become independent of all its fossil fuels by 2030.

However, energy economist Carole Nakhle says that with the combined exports of Africa's big players in the industry - Algeria, Egypt and Nigeria - amounting to less than half of what Russia supplies to Europe, they are "unlikely at the moment to compensate for any losses in Russian supplies".

"The good news is there will be greater interest in countries that already have the resources to replace Russian gas and Africa is in a very good position. We're going to see more investment," she says.

This change is most definitely underway.  The lessons here for the world isn't just about Russain gas, but the dangers of being reliant on any one nation for the majority of a critical resource, for one, and the vital importance of diplomatic peace.

The military/industrial complex has the USA by the throat...perpetual war for perpetual peace for 70 years now and counting!!!
Stopped the one in Afghanistan and then became the arms' supplier in the Ukraine. On and on it goes...there is a lot of money to be made from war.

If accurate this is shocking.  Reports I've seen on MSM (which includes FOX!) indicate the Russian army, while well equipped, doesn't appear to be very well trained and certainly not motivated, since the bulk of their forces are conscripts.

Last week, Russian forces lost an entire battalion after it attempted to cross Ukraine’s Siverskyi Donets River on a pontoon bridge. More than 100 vehicles and tanks are estimated to have been destroyed and up to 1,000 troops are believed to have been killed or wounded.

Over the weekend, a Russian ammunition depot near the city of Izyum was virtually evaporated, destroying a tank and up to seven armoured personnel carriers.*

Western M777 howitzers have contributed the carnage of Russian forces in the battle of Donbass. Russian military has been pounded by these long range heavy artilleries sent by U.S., Australia and Canada.

While that is good news in one sense, the main sense,

on a side note, it's very unfortunate that Russian conscripts who really don't want to be there, are forced to advance on the orders of their tyrannical commanders,  and die needlessly.

Former President George W. Bush in a speech tonight about Putin...

“The decision of one man to launch a wholly unjustified and brutal invasion of Iraq. I mean of Ukraine.”

Georgie Boy hasn't lost it. He can still put his foot in his mouth.

It would not have to happen to the Ukrainians or Russians if not from one dictator in command, Vladimir Putin.

U.S. may aid Ukraine with advanced anti-ship missiles.*

There are millions ton of grain from Ukraine been blockaded by Russian Navy vessels in the Black Sea. Chances of opening up the Russian navy blockade in the Black Sea are sending some Harpoons and Naval Strike Missile to help Ukrainian forces to deter and counter the Russian navy ships.
