 you are 100% correct.  not to sound too simplistic but they are absolutely stealing a huge chunk of this $$ and transferring it directly to their own coffers.  There is PRETTY MUCH NO OVERSIGHT to where all this money is going.  Never mind the money.,...mark my words some of these man-portable air defense units (MNPADS) will be used to take down at least one domestic airliner within 7-10 years.  They have absolutely NO IDEA where this stuff is going and what's being destroyed and what's 'falling thru the cracks and ending up God knows where.

The ruble is strengthening so much the Russian central bank intervened to curb its strength. It's clear the sanctions against Russia backfired short-term and will have very negative implications long-term.

Hands down one of the three worst policy mistakes of the last decade.

This Zoltan piece covers why sanctions represent a massive long-term policy mistake.

Duke Wayne and the Fab Five would have to have a rudimentary understanding of world economics to comprehend your post...they don't understand what peril their own economy is in, so to understand Russia is too big of a stretch.
