Ukraine peace negotiations update.

Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet Trump in ankorage Alaska. To discuss high level negotiations on ending the war in Ukraine. Although Zelensky is not in attendance, the leaders will come to an understanding of Putin position on the ear and immediately upon a cease fire strategy to further dialogue with larger parties, JD vance met with European leaders to come to a formal conclusion of their positions.

Zelensky has met over the last several months with all leaders of the United States and Europe his positions are clear. 

Washington has to bring the three sides to some compromise of what can be done to end this conflict.

This is a point of history, can the world come to a formal understanding in these cease fire strategy and end of the theater in Ukraine.

Putin has phoned Kim un in addressing the upcoming summit with Trump.

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin held a phone call to discuss their joint war against Ukraine and exchange greetings on the 80th anniversary of Korea’s liberation from Japan, according to DPRK state media on Wednesday.

The Kremlin also reported that Putin “shared information with Kim Jong Un in the context of the upcoming talks with U.S. President Donald Trump” during their call Tuesday, but the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) readout did not include this detail.

Putin and Trump are set to meet in Alaska this Friday (Aug. 15), where discussions could cover the issue of thousands of North Korean troops currently fighting for Moscow as well as the DPRK’s extensive weapons transfers to help Russia’s invasion.

According to the KCNA readout published Wednesday, Putin praised “the courage, heroism and spirit of sacrifice displayed by Korean People’s Army soldiers in the process of liberating Kursk territory.”

WASHINGTON (AP) — In an ironic twist, President Donald Trump is set to discuss the war in Ukraine with Russian leader Vladimir Putin at a military base in Alaska that was crucial to countering the Soviet Union during the height of Cold War and still plays a role today.

The meeting is scheduled to take place Friday at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage, according to a White House official who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss internal planning.

The base created by merging Elmendorf Air Force Base and Army Fort Richardson in 2010 has played a key strategic role in monitoring and deterring the Soviet Union during much of the Cold War.

Throughout its long history, the base hosted large numbers of aircraft and oversaw operations of a variety of early warning radar sites that were aimed at detecting Soviet military activity and any possible nuclear launches. It earned the motto “Top Cover for North America” at this time, according to the base website.

Washington, Trump said there was a 25% chance that the summit would fail, but he also floated the idea that, if the meeting succeeds, he could bring Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to Alaska for a subsequent, three-way meeting.

In a radio interview with Fox News, Trump also said he might be willing to stay in Alaska longer, depending on what happens with Putin.

Meanwhile, Zelenskyy and other European leaders worked to ensure their interests are taken into account when Trump and Putin meet in Anchorage.

Any deal will be a bad one if Ukraine also has to pledge not to join NATO. Because that means that Russia will be back for the rest of it. Now if Putin was leading Ukraine the deal signed would be for Ukraine to pledge not to join NATO, and then he would join NATO……And Trump would applaud that move like a seal at SeaWorld!…….This is purely Trumply theater in service of Putin!

 Most people would say "we have a 75%" chance to succeed rather than a 25% of failure. He's an odd fucker for sure.

No one other than Ukraine & Russia have taken this war seriously. If countries had, it would have been over years ago. Identify the problem & eliminate the problem kind of thing is my point of view which has pissed off some in here. Many have no idea how terrible war is & the damage it does for generations of people. 

Nothing prepares you for war. Not the best weaponry or the best training or the best tactics...nothing. You are scared all the fucking time & that's unnatural. At least it was for me. Saw things that didn't exist; heard things when no one else did. Imagine being scared all the time.

Things like hot food or a hot shower are luxuries you begin to cherish like never before. People are here today & gone tomorrow regularly. You learn to hate like you never did in your life. Nighttime is horrific & the sun can't come up soon enough.

But we continue to fuck around with each other all over the world. We haven't learned a damn thing about war after war after war.

 This is how conflict began.

Ukraine broke treaty when regime shifted to Western interests. The area of Dunbas oblique has been in rebellion for nearly 12 years. As pro Russian nationals and pro Western culture collided.

Russian Soviet propaganda is the pro Western culture was fascist Nazi.... Today it is a widely held belief of Zelensky is kin to Hitler by common Russian nationals. 

Then the war. The war began in a straight pincher movement to take all land east of Kyiv, this has the mineral and energy grid as well as black sea ports of Odessa and southern Romanian port.

The goal was to acquire the black sea everything east of Belarus and negotiating terms of surrender.

For breaking treaty and alignment with NATO to submission of paperwork to join alliance this is why Russia advanced , the thought of NATO weapons systems 70 miles from Moscow in hostile territory drive the Kremlin to engage in war.

The war Soviet went for it all and was pushed back

Iran and North Korea as well as China has given men systems weapons and devices to Russia for war effort against the west. 

England,France, American citizens and Western interests have give Kyiv significant money,supplies weapons systems medical services and diplomatic support through this bitter time . 

Us stradegy is to act as a moderator, first securing a platform of what each party wants on a wish list of a perfect world. And Trump will then ask England ,France Germany and the European Union what is their interest. Then they go back to Zelensky and Trump convenes with Putin and the dialogue begins as it plays out at the UN security council meeting in New York, Switzerland, and Nairobi Kenya for in south station.

So what's the over / under on a cease fire in Ukraine within 2 weeks.

I am glad to see someone over there take this conflict serious - so it isn’t to ruin that - but there is pretty far from Ukraine border to Moscow - pretty much all of the baltics are closer 

I would guess there is something like 300-400 miles - not 70 - and it is actually closer to north Ukraine and not east - which is the regions they want

Trump seems he can do business with, but this war was to last 3 weeks and never escaped the Biden presidency.
