Debate-watchers say Biden won first debate,
but most felt "annoyed" - CBS News poll

In the first presidential debate between President Trump and Democratic
nominee Joe Biden, voters who watched Tuesday night say Biden won
the debate, but those who watched the heated exchanges overwhelmingly
called the debate's tone negative, and most said they felt annoyed watching it.

48% say Biden won,  while  41% think trump was the winner.
Biden's margin here is not too different than his lead in national polls.

I saw a poll yesterday says 86% of voters have made up their minds on the candidate prior to last night's debate. Two more debates to come, but I agree that vast majority of voters have picked their candidate. Perhaps, close to million of people have already casted their ballots at this point.   

Right!  And most of those 86% voted for Biden rather than the racist/rapist/fascist/tax fraud

Donald Trump likely amazed his conservative base, but few others. I had Joe Biden on
my scorecard by a comfortable margin. He looked and sounded more presidential, 
while the incumbent bickered with his foe and moderator Chris Wallace of Fox News. Mr Trump
even refused when pinned down to condemn white supremacist groups, especially the
Proud Boys. The president refused, merely saying to the Proud boys:
"Stand back and stand by."

The sheep cult like Fat Donnie followers thought he was great. Fortunately, they only make up a minor portion of the voting population. The rest of the country and world for that matter thought Fat Donnie was an utter disaster and embarrassment.

"I heard from Republicans after the debate, some during the debate,

inability to make a case for what he would do in the next four years
if he was re-elected."

"You know, Democrats weren't particularly thrilled with Joe Biden's
performance, but they believe the contrast was crystal clear, that
there was only one person on that stage who appeared plausibly

The Fox & Friends host on Wednesday morning slammed Trump
for not explicitly condemning white supremacists during Tuesday's
presidential debate. When asked to do so by moderator Chris Wallace,
Trump told the Proud Boys, a far-right extremist group,
to "stand back and stand by."

"Donald Trump blew the biggest layup in the history of debates
by not condemning white supremacists," Kilmeade said.
"That's like, 'Are you against evil???'"
"WE were the big losers last night, meaning the American people."

CLEVELAND — The first presidential debate Tuesday devolved into name-calling,
shouting and insults as President Trump derailed the discussion with
constant interruptions, unfettered by a moderator who struggled to keep calm.

Trump talked constantly through the 90-minute debate, sometimes incoherently
and other times rattling off unfounded and baseless attacks against Democrat
Joe Biden while refusing to let the moderator even ask questions.

Pressed repeatedly, Trump refused to condemn extremist supporters or urge
them to stay peaceful in the event of a disputed election while once again
suggesting, without evidence, that it might be "rigged."

"Proud Boys, stand back and stand by," Trump said, a statement that
the extremist group with ties to white nationalism took as a rallying cry.
"But I'll tell you what, somebody's got to do something about antifa and the left."

Fox News' Steve Doocy perviously suggested on the show
the debate had no clear winner, as "we didn't see"
either candidate land "a knockout punch."

Among those who previously called out Trump for failing to condemn
white supremacists at the debate was former Republican
Sen. Rick Santorum, who told CNN this was a major "gaffe"
on Trump's part and a "huge mistake."

President Trump came out swinging last night and was the clear winner ...he pummeled Biden and his co-debater Chris Wallace.

Donald Trump armed himself for his first debate appearance against Joe Biden
with the same misinformation he has spread in front of thousands of supporters
at his rallies and in front of millions people watching his televised press briefings.

In his attempt to defend his record and response to the Covid-19 crisis and
economic fallout, he failed to address how it has impacted Americans,
giving Joe Biden a chance to do what he has done throughout his career
– speak to them.
The president has lost reality, making live fact-checking a near impossibility,
but his constant interruptions and attacks within 90 minutes overwhelmed
the debate.

Who won the debate?

The only person who won any sort of debate on Tuesday was Nancy Pelosi
the Democratic House speaker who publicly urged Joe Biden not to "legitimize"
Donald Trump by engaging in a debate with him.
"Why bother? He doesn't tell the truth," Ms Pelosi said on Friday.
He apparently doesn't let anyone else talk either – not Mr Biden,
not even the debate moderator, Chris Wallace of Fox News.

Joe Biden did exactly what he needed to. If he had acted like the obstinate,
furious, erratic Donald Trump we saw tonight he would not have gained anyone's
respect – that is not the politics people need right now. Although not a perfect
performance, Biden got in just enough points to show himself to be the more

The BBC gave the night to Joe Biden as he achieved his "main goal was

The only reason Biden appeared to hold up under pressure during the debates ...was because President Trump was having to debate with the moderator Wallace most of the time..and did not allow Ol' Joe much time to gaff and blunder...........

Tonight's debate diminished the United States. For decades, even in the midst
of the most vitriolic and bitter election campaigns, presidential debates have
been a chance for voters to hear candidates questioned on policy and challenged
on their ideas. This was not that.

Donald Trump interrupted, shouted and lied his way through this debate.
The moderator, Chris Wallace, lost control of the president early on and
never got it back.

If there were any undecided voters out there before this evening,
they would not have been helped by tonight's display.

biden won  in a close call but 50/50 is a common view .

even more common is all over the internet people r saying that any undecided voters were either unmoved either way or they r now firmly against the bully  rump .
