I agree with those who compare Trump to Hitler. There are more similarities than differences. Here are 5--
1/The charged way of talking, the constant sarcasm and derision (see 1930s press conferences to compare the tone).
2/The way Hitler insisted the entire nation and its culture and political aims should flow through one man....I don't see consensus building, and this is kind of essential nowadays to make a democracy work. Too many decisions are being mde by agencies and bureaucracies.
3/The constant focus on image (and imagery), and his rallies full of pageantry, attacking and demonizing democrats....No consensus building, just sway with power
4/Hitler rose to power by scaring everyone about how Germany was in peril and in decline. Trump uses the same dark imagery.
5/Trump is supported by the mil ind complex, and he rewarded them in his first term. Hitler ascended and was protected by all the major weapons manufacturers and ex WW1 generals, and he made promises to all of them to get back all lost territories and to turn the German economy into a war economy to rebuild it.
I don't think you can compare nations or cuiltures, esp in diff times, but the parallels in personality are there.
