Tech billionaire Elon Musk said Saturday he has officially formed the “America Party,” a third political faction to rival Democrats and Republicans.“Today, the America Party is formed to give you back your freedom,”

It has already acquired 19,200 followers.

Trumps BBB is expanding the national debt by a record FIVE TRILLION DOLLARS," Musk said Sunday on X. The billionaire suggested he will back primary challenges against GOP lawmakers who voted for the Trump-endorsed One Big Beautiful Bill Act.

Amid contention over the “big, beautiful bill,” Trump has threatened to launch a federal probe into the billionaire’s businesses through the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), once headed by Musk.

Musk did not say if he registered the party with the Federal Election Commission, but an "America Party" search of the FEC website did not produce any results on Saturday.

“Elon may get more subsidy than any human being in history, by far, and without subsidies, Elon would probably have to close up shop and head back home to South Africa,”Trump continued. “No more Rocket launches, Satellites, or Electric Car Production, and our Country would save a FORTUNE.”

This looks like a blueprint of how to go broke...

 Tesla reported a 14% year-on-year decline in car deliveries in the 2nd quarter missing expectations..

The dems ballooned the debt by just under $5 trillion in last three years. Estimates are the BBB increases the debt by $5 trillion in 10 years. They have to use that 10 yr number as 500 billion a year doesn't sound as good. 

I was to post about this yesterday but didn't. 

While I don't think this will get traction, i do like the idea of challenging the "uni-party".  If nothing else, should quell the narrative about his intentions for DOGE.

But with his platform and "clout" this would be the time with Trump's time coming to an end.  I think the absolute best and first principle would be to come out and say anyone in the party will serve no more than 2-3 terms.

The brief détente between Elon Musk and President Donald Trump took its last breath over the weekend, as the billionaire and once top Republican donor announced he would form a new political party.

Musk distanced himself from his former role as “first buddy” to the president, spending much of Independence Day weekend and Monday promoting his new “America” party, while bashing both Republicans and Democrats. He even resurfaced unfounded conspiracy theories, accusing the Trump administration of misleading the public about disgraced financier and convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

The breakup came after Trump signed his massive domestic policy agenda into law. Musk lobbied hard against the bill, arguing it adds too much to America’s debt and undermines a great deal of the cost-saving initiatives he set out to achieve with his Department of Government Efficiency.

Trump posted on social media that he was “saddened to watch Elon Musk go completely ‘off the rails,’ essentially becoming a "TRAIN WRECK,” saying the only thing third parties are good for “is the creation of Complete and Total DISRUPTION & CHAOS.”

You have one of the most weird and alienating voting processes you could have come up with - you can become president even though you don’t get the most amount of votes - and it depends more on which states you win rather than how many votes you get and if your party loses you have close to no influence 

I hope you can hear how insane this sounds for an outsider - that it alienates so many of your citizens - no fucking wonder you guys are as divided as you are - this is fucking ludacris - I kind of hate Elon - but I think this is a good move by him

It's not a popularity contest ...we are voting for a person to be President of the United States ..not Auditioning for an American Idol contest..

Musk needs to get out of politics..he is a train wreck and will be a broke train wreck ,,if he continues to challenge President Trump with this new party..

The rapper? Just messing with ya. I know English isn't your third language. It's actually ludicrous. Ludacris is rapper turned actor Chris Bridges of Fast and the Furious fame.

 We're obviously doing a lot of things right.

Problem is US has a failing democracy.  Electoral college is flawed.  States with big populations are under represented in government while states with small populations are over represented.  Ideally, all states should be competitive swing states instead of a few.  Result is tyranny by minority instead of majority.   US two parties system encourages division instead of cooperation.  In contrast, most staple democratic countries have a parliamentary system which allows for multiple parties to have influence in government.

Agree.  Although the reasoning differs immensely.  Definitely closer to the end than the beginning.

Those who most see democracy under serious threat were people who voted for former Vice President Kamala Harris and white women...

 Also the one's who allowed politicians to amend voting rules, procedures, and deadlines cause a couple thousand people had a runny nose and cough.

While Musk is attempting to start a third Political Party ..the rats are abandoning ship at his other companies

X CEO Linda Yaccarino announced Tuesday she is resigning and leaving the company after two years.

Yaccarino tweeted out on Wednesday that she has decided to step down as CEO of X.

Tesla is also dealing with an exodus of top executives. Musk's confidant at Tesla, Omead Afshar, and North America HR director Jenna Ferrua left the company last month.........

So says the guy who voted for a convicted felon.
