CD, where have I ever said that companies shouldnt pay income taxes?

Unions and corporations paying taxes are two different issues.

I sure wish stiln would answer my question about the difference between public and private schools....I think he bailed cause he knows hes overmatched.

What you failed to consider is that the market overseas can bear a much lower amount than the market over here. You either didn't think about that OR you were thinking that I may not be smart enough and you could slip that crap past me.

 

If McDonalds were unionized, how much would my value meal cost me?

I'd have to have 10 or 11 employees get my order for me:

1st person to take my order

2nd person to call out my order to the line cook.

3rd person doesn't really have a job just to watch and make sure everybody is working safe.

4th person waiting for the trash bin to fill up so they can take it out to the dumpster.

5th person is in charge of sweeping/mopping the floor...but shooting the breeze with the 4th person.

6th person in charge of uncooked fries.

7th person takes care of fries that are currently in the frier.

8th person is hired primarily to cover for everybodys 5 weeks of vacation.

9th person in charge of fries that have finished cooking.

10th person is the foreman who needs to spend almost the whole week making the schedule to accomidate vacation and sick time for all employees. Not allowed to help out during peak business hours because thats considered an extra job.

11th person makes sure variable supplies are in stock.

After all that...my QP with cheese combo meal comes to $17.57

You still didnt answer my question either and skated by it. Should companies have to pay an import tax for having their products made overseas. Its a simple fuckin question, be a friggin man an answer the damn thing.

Since we are going to go by your theory of what the market can bear and its clear the market only wants to bear paying slave type wages to over seas workers, how do we get the companies to come back here and pay more then 5 bucks a day in wages to each employee, considering thats what they roughly pay people over seas. Come on genius tell us how we get our people to work for those type of wages. Is your jealous always complaining about other peoples wages willing to work in some sneaker factory all day working for 5 bucks a day if they bring the jobs back here? You should if your not 2 faced say yes you would, since your an expert in what occupations should be paid.

Oh and another thing, 50k a year for working at alcola, what a bunch of over paid fucks for making some aluminum cans or whatever else they make there. Only reason that company hasnt moved all their jobs over seas yet is because they would have to ship the aluminum over seas in order to recycle it,

Bowlslit, am gonna say this for the last time because its obvious no matter how many times i say it, guys like you dont understand.

Unions didnt have anything to do with detriot going under. The corporations decided they could have their cars made cheaper using over seas labor and then bring them back here without paying any import taxes. Now am sure if the unions works agreed to work for 5 bucks a day the companies might have kept the jobs here. Bowlslit are you willing to work for those kinds of wages? Cause it appears you want everybody else but you to work for that kind of pay.

Like i said union workers or non union workers have no bearing on companies moving jobs over seas.  Companies want all the profits for themselves and thats it,. They dont even want to pay taxes to run our govt, like everybody else pays, but hey you keep wrapping your lips on companies asses. They must be doing a lot for you in life.

Heres the facts, companies no longer want to pay union workers of non union workers in our country, whent hey can get people to work for slave wages in other countries.

Do you think our people should work for those same type of wages here, because people in other countries work for those wages?  Please answer that question and dont try spinning the question. Just a yes or no type answer.

I don't think companies should be able to skirt some form of tariffs, but I don't think the tarriffs should be extravigant and I don't think that is the reason that jobs go overseas.

I think right to work states have seen better job growth than non right to work states. You won't have that debate with me because you know that to be true.

Companies move jobs over seas because they can get the products made by paying people slave wages. So heres the question, how can American workers ever in a million years compete with that? Should our people agree to work for the same wages they pay people over there?  Answer those questions, and dont beat around the bush. I await your answer because its clear you are an expert on wages paid by companies.

Well there is obviously two sides to that story I mean I can see from the ownership perspective you have to be realist with wages and profit and everything. Too much to get into now about workers rights and then obviously they can go to far as well.

Answer ....Private school means private...Not a string of private schools like the public system has. Hence negotiating on behalf of lets say 1500 teachers in a public school system of a city makes sense because it keeps costs in line and all teachers pay the same based on a series of criteria. For example a teacher that has more education can achieve higher levels of pay...(I think that might be construed as merit pay).

Private schools might have only 50-100 teachers on the payroll so a union would not be worth it for those employees.If there were a string of 40 private schools operated by the same entity with a teaching staff of lets say 500 teachers then maybe unionization might be  an option.

But believe me, the blame for the deterioration of the public school system lays with the bureaucrats and politicians more than the teachers.

In my view, the flaw in the typical union mindset is that people should be paid what they're worth, as opposed to what the job is worth.  Remember  the Delphi bankruptcy, the president of Delphi stated, "We can not afford to pay a man $60 an hour to sweep the floor".

I would further argue this approach endangers our very economic well-being, as young, relatively uneducated people get high paying, but mindless jobs. This completely distorts the concept of "bettering oneself", and imbues an attitude of entitlement.

There is a theme song among the union folks that minimum wage should be able to support of family of four. Entry level jobs are not meant to support families. They are starting points for people coming into the workforce. If you stay forever in an entry level job, your ambition, skill, interest or demeanor are the issue, not the entry level job.

I believe that the current union model is flawed. It is built on a notion of an unregulated industrial society. We no longer have that anywhere. Government at all levels regulates the employer/employee relationship concerning safety, fairness, work environment, ethics, etc. Some of this gets out of hand, but most of it is intuitive – decent employers have been acting this way forever. Particularly in small businesses, the relationship between the workers and the managers is not a hostile one – which the union model presupposes. A unity of purpose and sense of teamwork are essential to the success of most small businesses. Some bosses are jerks and have to walk a careful line to avoid hostile work environment claims. Some employees are jerks and have to be gotten rid of.

The union model seems to be built to punish the former and protect the latter.
