Trump has a long history of cozying up to the Russians dating back to the 1980s, but I think greed was his primarily motivation for doing so. I light of Trumps position that Ukraine started the war with Russia by not bending over and giving in to Russian demands for Ukrainian sovereign soil, If I were Zelenskyy I’d very publicly start discussions with EU extraction corporations about sharing mineral profits with the EU in return for membership and weapons. Publicly, but the US not invited to that table.
