White House touts US reaching 50% adults fully vaccinated

      "This is a major milestone in our country's vaccination efforts,"
White House senior Covid-19 adviser Andy Slavitt said during a WH briefing,
noting that only 1% of Americans were vaccinated
when President Joe Biden entered office January 21.

More than 130.6 million Americans are fully vaccinated against Covid-19.

Earlier this month, Biden said he wanted 160 million US adults fully vaccinated by July 4.

Biden to recruit 1,000 Black-owned businesses
to help the vaccination effort

President Joe Biden unveiled plans Wednesday to recruit 1,000 Black-owned
barbershops and salons to provide "Shots at the Shop" and promote the
nationwide vaccination effort.

The administration is teaming up with the Black Coalition Against COVID, the
University of Maryland Center for Health Equity and SheaMoisture to engage
Black-owned barbershops and beauty salons across the country to support
local vaccine education and outreach efforts. The administration has set a
goal of inoculating 70% of U.S. adults with at least one shot by July 4.

As of Thursday, more than 51% of the US population has received at least one dose
of the Covid-19 vaccine and 41% are fully vaccinated.
Twelve states have reached President Joe Biden's goal of having 70% of US adults
getting at least one dose by July 4. (all blue states, of course)

now 42.5% of Americans are fully vaccinated according to CDC

Eight states — all but one of them in the Northeast — have fully vaccinated
more than half of their residents against Covid-19, according to data published
Wednesday by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

They are: Connecticut, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire,
New Jersey, Rhode Island and Vermont.

Vermont leads the country with nearly 60% of residents fully vaccinated.
