America's jobs recovery got an unexpected boost in January despite
the Omicron variant spreading rapidly throughout the country.

The economy added 467,000 jobs last month, the Bureau of Labor Statistics
said Friday, significantly better than most economists had expected.

This was a shock, as the consensus forecast had been for only
150,000 jobs. Plenty of experts even expected job losses!

Meanwhile, the December jobs report, previously mocked by many on the right as very disappointing at only 199,000 -- and supposedly "ALL JOE BIDEN'S FAULT" -- has been revised UPWARD  to an impressive 510,000 jobs gained! 

The labor force participation rate increased slightly, to 62.2%
from 61.9% in December, as more people entered the workforce.

Thirteen of the major industry groups gained jobs for the month. The group with the largest gain was Leisure and hospitality which added 151,000 jobs; followed by Retail and Professional Services (ex. temporary help), which gained 61,400 and 59,700 jobs, respectively. Compared to pre-pandemic levels, employment in Manufacturing is now down 226,000 jobs, or -1.8%, from February 2020. The only industry groups that lost jobs were Construction (-5,000) and Natural Resources/mining (-4,000)

Wonder what the pay is for those jobs? I doubt they are high paying jobs. Sounds like many were temporary jobs and might be inflating. Regardless I am happy and my stock portfolio was smiling over most of the week. Unlike some of you turkeys, I want the country to succeed, regardless of the president.
