In 2017, there were 70,237 drug overdose deaths in the United States.  Almost 5x more drug overdose deaths to gun deaths and it's getting worse. Is drug overdose spewed in politics as much as guns? Do you see our politicians going after big pharma, or opioids coming to the streets, or over the border?

Go check out Japans convection rates compared to the US. Their citizens stand 0% chance against the justice system. Their people are afraid of their justice system, so they just obey. People in the US may not be afraid of our justice system because there's no penalties for anything anymore (hence, the topic of this thread). So people are more free to commit crimes, which are also gun related without fear of prosecution because criminals are being shown they can get out on no bail.

So after the carnage what happens... Dna testing to match tissue type for the body parts. They present this to grieving parents at the hospital.

Historically, Canada tends to have lower violent crime rates than the US.  Probably because of less access to guns and a culture that values community.  In contrast, American culture is more pro aggression.  Most Canadians live in big cities within 150 miles of US border. The Economist rates Toronto as the 24th safest city in the world. 

More recently in Toronto (article from March 5th)...

As of Feb. 27, shootings were up 47.7% compared to this time last year, the number of people injured is up 70.6%, the number of people fatally shot is up by 33.3% and the total number of people injured and killed by gunfire is up 57.7%

That said, if the current pace of gun violence were to continue for the rest of the year, Toronto could surpass the highest number of shootings recorded since comparable records began in 2004 (492 in 2019), the highest number of gun murders since 2005 (51 in 2018) and the highest number of people injured in shootings since 2004 (240 in 2019).

Basically, as her described them, they broadcast a sound in a very narrow beam so that only the target the speakers are pointed at will hear the sound. Is that true? How do they work? They kill , then the organ donor parts go to a tissue typer a molecular biologist that matches the tissue to the organ recipient.

They passed laws so they can use over dose material

Simple overdose deaths can be used for organ donor transplants.

Dr. Christine Durand from Johns Hopkins Medical School in Baltimore and her colleagues analyzed all organ transplants in the US listed in the Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients for the past 17 years. They found a “dramatic rise” in the number of donations from overdose-death donors. Such donors accounted for only 1.1% of donations in 2000, but that increased to 13.4% by 2017. “Now more than one in eight deceased donors died from an overdose,” she said.

They also looked at how organ recipients fared after receiving donations from overdose deaths compared to other deceased donors and found essentially no difference in standardized five-year survival. “The outcomes were excellent. Equivalent to, if not better than, those from trauma deaths or medical deaths,” she said. “We were quite reassured by that.”

But organs from overdose deaths, especially kidneys and livers, were also discarded at higher rates than those from other sources. Durand said this is partly because the prevalence of hepatitis C infections was high among those donors, at 30%, which scares off patients and clinicians. But that’s not the only reason. “Organs from donors who tested negative are still being discarded,” she said.
