She has the ear of anyone she chooses to talk to in the fields of finance, economic policy, and taxes.  She either is not talking to them or not listening herself.  She can even talk to past holders of the position.  The last several have not been great but could help guide her.  Instead, she seems to rely more on politicians and does their bidding.

Maybe she could feel the need to reach out to associates she trusts now that she sees a bigger world.monetsry system than who. And the imf as guidance to sound economic policy domestically. 

She was appointed by a politician and serves in a public service roll of government. 

I feel we could of done much worse here. 

Hard to see how.  Biden whiffed on this token pick just like he did with Harris. 

She may have reached out to them, I am sure she does.  Just hard to see how she makes so many bad decisions without making any good ones.  Maybe she is reaching out to the wrong folks.

With poor council it is hard to make the correct decision.
