for example Bernies supporters were sold on ideas of universal health care. very little press at all on Vermonts single payer system free college for all was the media time gave bernies camp.

Yeah a certain balding big mouth got elected with the point fingers and make absurd promises approach...and the moronic public actually believed it. Who is the fool, the big mouth jerk or the public who believed him?
There is nothing better the repubs can come up with and that is a fact because (as mentioned many times) the problems are not addressed, rather shifting semantics around and trying to put some lipstick on this and voila the problem is all solved, REPUB style.
What a joke, but I am actually impressed that a small group of repubs are not falling for this joke because it is not any better than what is existing and in fact it penalizes many and accomplishes nothing.
You cannot fix the problem when part of the problem is paying for your lunch ticket...big pharma and healthcare PACS have sunk their teeth into our politicians so nothing can be done to fix the problem.
Quinnpiac Univ. poll shows 17% of people favor to repeal and replace the Affordable Health Care but 56% of people disapprove the GOP repeal bill.
Look around the Western countries, including Japan and Taiwan, most of the countries have the universal health plans to cover their own citizens. Under this demised GOP Health Plan, over 50 million people will not have health insurance. You want more and more people to get protected by health care, not the other way around. Now it's the US's turn to follow suit, hats off to moderate GOP congressmen/women who was going to vote "NO".

Trump is an unpopular President with early failures that show his ignorance and inexperience. Despite bragging, he isn't a deal maker in government. Obamacare isn't collapsing according to nonpartisan Congress budget office. But Trumpcare collapsed instead.

We'd prolly be better off to expand Medicare for all. Our healthcare costs are just outta control. Obviously this would cause our health insurance industry to collapse but we can't save that industry at the expense of f*cking over every American citizen's well being. At some point we have to face this complicated and difficult situation and settle it once and for all. We'll have to wait for the Dems to take control of the House, Senate and Presidency cause you damn well know the Republicans are useless after what happened today. What's next? Tax reform? ... my @ss ... that sh*t is even more complicated than healthcare.

Healthcare reform is hard. For decades, Presidents have tried to achieve universal healthcare system. So far, Obamacare is the most politically feasible system based on republican Romneycare which is similar to successful system in Switzerland. To have any universal system in the world, some people must pay more so that others pay less.
One problem is that Trumpcare is too based on ideology and misguided priorities. The rich and healthy don't need help. In other countries, sick people is the top priority because they need the most help. However US still has the most inefficient and unaffordable system in the world.

There is a revision to the Affordable Care Act (ACA) in the offing, read on our local newspaper that many Democratic and Republic congressmen are willing to negotiate to fix ACA. This new and better ACA version will happen. Bottom line, just like the social security, we need more people to be covered by healthcare not less.

i'm far from a healthcare expert, but even if most of the people in congress are morons and our president is clueless, with every other civilized country offering healthcare to its citizens, you can't tell me that we can't just look at some other countries and come up with a workable model based on what has worked for them for so many years.
i get it that our politicians (some more than other, i.e. republicans) are beholden to the special interests and big corps but at some point, as insurance just gets more and more expensive, someone has to get serious about this garbage and try to help the people who, you know, they are supposed to work for.

nursing costs to the over all health care costs are 8 % maybe we should slash there as medicine costs are nearing 67% of the finacial burden to the health care industry we should increase that to 73% with the nursing staff reduction.... this is how are esteemed collegues in washinton think...

The only reason the GOP plan failed is because Dems are abstaining completely and the GOP is fractured.
Far right wingers don't want to give handouts to people that are able bodied and lazy.
I think there should be at least some incentive for lazy people to stop being ....well lazy.
Obamacare will fail...too many healthcare companies bailing out.
Several million people are paying the fine. Which I wouldn't be surprised if the government is keeping rather than giving to Healthcare companies to help offset their losses.

Comparing our healthcare to other countries isnt completely fair or accurate..
Taxation in other countries especially socialized tends to be higher and getting specialized care is much more of a challenge because that cost is so much higher and the wait lines are very long.
There are a few culprits to our healthcare inflation, mainly the cost of drugs, the issue of malpractice insurance and non-payment to hospitals.
In reality the rest of the world is sucking off our pain, the cost of developing new therapies is VERY HIGH, drug companies will not invest in therapies especially high risk and slow return drugs if they were to be capped like other countries do.
Our government allows the US citizen to be gouged and that really benefits the rest of the world, but our excess profits for these companies means they will spend and take chances when otherwise they would not.
When inflation severely outstrips general inflation in any area especially for how long HC has, the reasons are DEEPLY rooted and difficult to reverse.

okay a dramatic reduction in costs is allowing Americans and American states and companies to be able to purchase directly from the manufature.
case in study:
Americans are forbidden to purchase medicine in Canada for a quarter of exact same drug. Because safety with medicine concerns However alot of pharmacuticuls are manufactured and distribute from canada firms in Pharmacuticul but we can not buy those from a canadain pharmacy
for intense a script of Liptor made in canada costs 3.40 american the same drug if one purchase it in the states costs 76.00 in some distribution chains it is made in canada.
we as citizens are not even allowed to negotiatye the cost of medicine within the medicare laws. hence we hedge funds buying pattens on specialized medicine and jacking the price 150.000 percent ... stupidity at its finest our legislative branch is.

some how all of this is the fault of the seniors and their entitlement program social scacity and medi care
Actually the lone beneficiaries of this are current takers from SS and Medicare..
All the inflation that the system is facing is greatly being absorbed for the benefit of those who paid less into the system all along and are able to benefit off the backs of the current earners who ARE paying more and WILL end up with much much less when retirement comes.

Republicans and democrats are trying to bankrupt the system the system was solvent but then we cut fica to 4% from its original 7.65 % as an economic stimulus gimmick for nearly 8 years, now we have to bring that up to 10% of pay matched by the employer to off set the damage and have it remain solvent to 2050.
we keep shooting our foot and complain why we wont be able to walk that far.....

That's easy for a simple mind to conclude. It's not that fair or accurate for a realist to come up with that analysis however.
Trump has little chance of being popular based on how the mainstream media pounces on his every move...good or bad.
You're too conditioned with the opposite during the past presidency because they overlooked or downplayed many potential negative stories.

Bill Clinton making good sense on if Obamacare is good or not.
Obamacare was maybe designed to fail so they could insist on a single payer system . Obamacare failing was maybe intended to be the Vaseline. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mYdIiY0Iips

I saw Trump blamed the Democrats. Really? You mean the party that doesn't hold any power right now prevented the bill from going through? His plan is to not work with them and to blame them for everything. Brilliant. I don't know why the hell anyone believed this idiot when he told you he was going to quickly put together a plan that'd bring down costs and everyone would receive better care. That sounds so fing stupid, that you should probably kill yourself if you believed it. Then he had the balls to say nobody knew healthcare is this complicated. I'm going to laugh every step of the way while people realize their lives aren't better under Trump.
