What will we worry about next ? an_getaway

Lefties and the Davos clan will have us living in boxes if it solves their perceived climate crisis.

    @thirdperson

What is China doing to decrease their carbon emissions.

And do you realize that the U.S. has been reducing its global footprint for more than 10 years.  Using natural gas instead of coal has greatly reduced carbon emissions here in the U.S.

But that doesn't fit your agenda now ,  does it ?? an_light

Fact checker Politifact rates true Biden's comment that number one weather related killer is extreme heat. More people die annually from heat than floods, hurricanes and tornados combined according to Centre for disease control. Scientists say heat deaths are under estimated. More accurate studies of excess deaths rather than data on death certificates suggest real number could be up to 10 times higher.

How does this mesh with that data I showed you that says the exact opposite?

More Americans say climate change has 'made things worse' in their lives

As blistering heat waves, fatal floods or toxic wildfire smoke afflict nearly every corner of the U.S. this summer, a new Yahoo News/YouGov poll finds that a growing number of Americans say climate change has β€œmade things worse” in their lives β€” and will continue to do so in the future.

The survey of 1,638 U.S. adults, which was conducted from July 13 to 17, shows that more than a third (34%) now believe they have already been personally affected in a negative way by climate change, up 7 points from October 2021 (the last time Yahoo News and YouGov asked the question).

Likewise, 47% of Americans β€” a 5-point increase β€” now say their own lives will get worse in years to come because of the warming planet.

And while nearly half of U.S. adults (48%) say climate change has not personally affected them yet, just 30% say it will make β€œno difference” to them in the future.

My life is worse with just the bombardment of garbage spewed on a daily basis. an_light

Amazing how ignorant the human race really is. Remember as a kid all the Mississippi River floods of 1973. Wiped out towns. The Michigan flood of 1986. This happens today and IT'S CLIMATE CHANGE!!!!

No wonder Biden got elected. And that's Trump's main problem, he underestimates the supidity of the average American.

If you were to do a poll of mid-Michigan residents and ask them was this summer much warmer than normal, my guess is 80%+ would say Oh YES!! In fact May was 23rd, June was 22nd, and today will end July and it is currently 21st out of the last 53 years of data. 1975 July was warmer than this July. Nothing more than spreading misinfornation to vulnerable people.

Only makes sense that Climate Extremists/Alarmists would gravitate towards large metro areas like Phoenix and Las Vegas. Been well known large cities with so much buildings and blacktop retain the heat often times creating their own weather called the "urban heat island effect."

What better place to point out "new" records than large cities that were not there just 40-50 years ago. Phoenix has grown 300% since 1970, Vegas 300% since 1980.

I pray , that there will come a time and a day , where every guy that my eye can align will speak their mind and not just hide away , like they’re a vibrator by the bedside of some tired old dame , who’s husband doesn’t bring the thunder and doesn’t inspire her to do the same , so inside her escritoire that sits not 5 feet away , is a giant sized vibrating Johnson she uses when she wants to climb high and away , and escape to that same euphoric place that I grace when I do the rhymes that I say ……

    ya dig ?

And let's leave out the fact the CA is experiencing colder temps. The left has to cherry pick data to keep people scared. IT'S WHAT THEY DO ON A DIALY BASIS. SCARE PEOPLE = CONTROL PEOPLE. bahhaaaaa

The Earth is always spinning people. Weather is going to move around the globe, it's never the exact same year after year. You have to be sick in the head to actually believe that Humans can control weather and climate.

He can’t imagine what is was like for wallstreet ? What a crock of shit . Can you imagine what it was like for wallstreet when he called you out and pleaded with you guys to do the right thing and actually discuss things in a discussion forum and you guys left him high and dry and heated worse than those Arizona temperatures by not even responding to him once ?

please . Give me a break . He’s so worried and nervous about the man yet he disrespects him to a very high degree by ghosting him when a response is necessary . I’m calling bullshit on this one brother . You can’t play both sides of the fence on that one cuz I’m the Rottweiler on each side of that motherfucker that’s gnawing off your leg bone because you’re trespassing on property where you don’t belong …..peace_5

From the recent climate summit, many scientists around the globe are indicating the tipping point of no return for extraordinary man-caused destruction and disaster will occur in the 2028-2038  range.  Still it is getting worse each year as we move toward the inevitable tipping point.

Climate scientists are very certain about man-made global warming.  Climate models were so accurate that they earned a Nobel prize in science.  University of California study examined 17 climate models dating back to the 1970s and found 14 accurately predicted temperatures in future decades.  Even Exxon scientists were accurate in 63% to 83% of climate projections.  Scientists tend to be cautious and have under estimated climate change because they didn't want to appear alarmist.

Current global warming can only be explained by man-made greenhouse effect.  Not sun, volcano, orbit or natural cycle.  Now July is officially recognized as hottest month by World meterological organization and others.  According to Potsdam institute, present times are the warmest since beginning of holocene epoch about 10,000 years ago.  Since there was a prior ice age, current record is the warmest in 120,000 years.

This is incorrect and flat out wrong.  Go back and review the materials on this.  Read more than just the narrative-driven articles.

    Yes, mostly accurate. peace_5

Our planet was in a very slow naturally-occuring warming effect since the end of the last ice age, coinciding with the gradual retreat of glaciers. VERY SLOW!

an_lightBut you're right in what I'm sure you meant to express: that VERY SLOW, gradual warming effect has accelerated "bigly" since the industrial revolution and the incremental increases in human population. IOW, the acceleration in global warming is due to, as you accurately stated, "man-made greenhouse effect."

The only valid debate among scientific scholars is how fast this "man-made greenhouse effect" is being accelerated. Some say the human caused acceleration in global warming will cause a catastrophic effect to our planet by mid-century or even as early as 2039!  Others say about 100 to 150 years.

But the overwhelming majority consensus is that the mere presence of and actions of humans are indeed causing an accelerated rate of global warming far beyond any natural cycle.

I'm no expert on climate science and neither is anybody else on this sports-gambling website. So I will differ to those scientists who comprise the overwhelming majority consensus.

Keep up the good work, thirdperson!  thumbs_up
