More than 60 House Republicans on Tuesday voted against a resolution expressing support for NATO and calling on President Joe Biden to strengthen the organization's committement to defending democracy.

We spend too much on NATO. We should only be spending 2% of our GDP instead of 3.5%. A $375,000,000,000.00 difference. 

If the US spent the same % as Canada, US taxpayers would save roughly $650,000,000,000.00 per year. Or $2,600 per adult in the US. 

Canada spends 1.3% 

Germany spends 1.5% 

Spain 1% 

Belgium 1.1% 

Turkey 1.5% 

Netherlands 1.4% 

Citing the threat posed by "authoritarian regimes" as well as
"internal threats from proponents of illiberalism,"
the resolution calls on the Biden administration to
uphold NATO's "founding democratic principles."

Since this isn't about cost, it's curious why those 63 would actually argue with their own party on this.

More than a thousand book titles, most addressing racism and LGBTQ issues, have been banned from U.S. classrooms and school libraries in the last nine months, many under pressure from conservative parents and officials, the writers' organization PEN America said on Thursday.

PEN compiled a database of banned books that includes the first novel by Nobel Prize winner Toni Morrison and a memoir by actor and activist George Takei about being sent to an internment camp in California as a Japanese-American child during World War Two.

Immigrant Gas station owner ‘on verge of tears’ after being cheated by customers in Tennessee

      An inadvertent error had occured at an immigrant owned
gas station in ruby-red state, Tennessee, when the price of gas
he was selling was incorrectly listed as $0.45 per gallon.
Clearly an OBVIOUS error.
But for at least 5 hours at his busy gas station, no customer
said a thing, until Henry DeHart of Chattanooga.
DeHart alerted the owner then paid what he should have owed.
This upset the next cheater who was in line behind him.

“What I find most frustrating about this is that this man,
with the guts to own a small business, would get screwed
over by people of Tennessee for half of [the] day,” DeHart said.

“How many people this morning thought, it’s my lucky day,
while this man was getting taken to the cleaners?” he added.

At the time, von Ehlinger was a state representative from Lewiston, but

Forcing pregnancy is a form of rape.  if abortion is illegal, every miscarriage could be a potential crime.  There is no medical way to tell the difference between miscarriage and drug abortion.  Innocent women are being jailed for having miscarriages.  States with the most restrictive abortion laws tend to have the worst pregnancy and childbirth mortality.  Anti-abortion laws harm society but not abortion which is essential healthcare for women with unwanted pregnancies.

Or is it because he requested some congressional oversight into how the $40 billion is going to be distributed.....Please help us all understand.

More than 65% of Americans agree with current SCOTUS ruling on abortion and the freedom for women about their own health.

If settled law is overturned, it not only defies the wishes of the majority of Americans, which in itself is a despicable abuse of power in a supposedly Democratic society,  but is a fundamental denial of freedom that has existed for 49 years, by the Supreme Court.

I wonder what Mexico would have to say about that.
