No sir.  They are saying that the percentage of total jobs created that were government jobs was 25% of the total created.  The actual amount of jobs created actually declined from the year before.

So, no, the job growth was not 75%.  It was actually a decline of close to -7% from the year before.  BUT of those created roughly 75% were private-sector and 25% were government jobs.

According to the latest annual job creation numbers published by the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, 31.54 million jobs were created in 2023. This is calculated by aggregating the total number of gross job gains recorded per quarter. 2023’s figure marks a 6.83% annual fall, the second successive annual decline and the largest in more than a decade.

@Midnight1

 They are not even fully recovered yet under Biden.  He had no choice BUT to add jobs, by default after the shutdowns.

Simply look at the worker participation rate.

Feb 2020 it was 63.3%   Then came the shutdowns.  It dropped to 60%.  Then it slowly climbed to 62.8%.

NOW it is DOWN to 62.5%.

But of those that have been slowly added back a large part of them are government jobs.  That is not a good sign of growth of the economy, but a government-infused 'job growth' that is deceptive of the overall health of the economy.

Those are the facts and there is no good reason to try to spin it otherwise except to try to make Biden look good.

The government CRUSHED the jobs market in less than a month and it has taken this administration the full four years and they still have not recovered.  In fact, they have now actually started to drop off a bit.

This is ironic coming from a poster that creates threads using copy and paste every day and literally discusses nothing of said posts an_beatup

@Mid- Lets face it, Sleepy and team fudged the monthly job numbers so much that you guys forgot to go back and look at how much of a drastic decrease the revised numbers were every single month and just celebrated fake numbers month after month. Not only a drastic decrease, we're talking about historical drops in revised numbers. Lets face it, you lived in a fugazi under sleepy and his teams manipulation. Do you have the stats on how many "jobs created" were second or third jobs, or like Raiders pointed out, gov't created jobs? You know, your taxes creating jobs and future generations debt issues creating said jobs to boost numbers instead of the private section building the economy. I'm sure you'll bring up "but UI was at the lowest levels" and fail to mention how tracking works. Since you're bringing up participation form posters, would you like to inform us on how the UI is calculated and how they stop tracking after a set amount of time which then lowers the numbers that the left loved to rejoice about? Or how about "fReE hEaLtH cArE" from Obama and how that took away full time employment and cut hours so employers could cut health care by reducing hours? Sleepy fixes one issue and then creates 2 more.

@scooby-doos

Basically all he had to do was to get one or two of about four or five things back to the Trump levels.

He had over 3 years to do what Trump pretty much did in just about 2 years.

Median real wages, retail gas prices, inflation, unemployment, influx of illegals, crime rate.  Which all affected the misery index and economic confidence gauges.

Prices for basic things like food and shelter vastly increased which disproportionately affected the poorer folks.

Even the 'gains' Biden made in unemployment and job participation are very highly exaggerated due to the illegals allowed in and into the markets.  So, he had a lot of lower-paying jobs and government jobs added.  Even the influx of the trillions the government put into the economy that stirred the economy and even had the 'revenge' spending eventually got caught up and eaten up by the tremendous jump in inflation.

If he had fixed just one or two of those things, the folks would largely have 'ignored' the Afghanistan debacle, the lack of respect on the world stage, the DEI push in government, and the division that Biden furthered that Obama had started.

The reason he largely will go down as a failure is that he (and his administration) did not realize what was important to the folks and try to urgently fix those things:  Jobs, prices, safety and domestic security.

@Raiders22

 Biden shrinks from world view ahead of Trump's return to Washington.

42 days remain.

There is no leadership coming from the White House,” one Democrat close to senior lawmakers stated bluntly. “There is a total vacuum.”

I was going on slims number of 25% . Guess he was wrong according to your numbers.peace_5

@darkhorse12

No.  It is just 25% of all new jobs created in 2023.  NOT that the total amount of other jobs increased by 75%.

For example, say in 2022 there were 200,000,000 people employed.  Then in 2023 -- 700,000 new jobs were added.  That is an increase of say ~3.5%.

Of that 3.5% increase -- 25% of those jobs created were government jobs.  Say 175,000 or so.

 But like I pointed out earlier -- the participation rate actually peaked and has dropped off some.  So, the increase may not have even been ~3.5%.  In fact, it may even now be a decrease, etc.

 It looks like Dementia Joe is having a fire sale. Along with selling off border wall materials that were already paid for, he's handing out pardons like candy, including one for the infamous "cash for kids" judge. If there was any doubt about Biden being the most anti-American prez ever, there isn't anymore. peace_5

 The POS doesn't pay his bills so why should regular Americans?

Biden's thousands of well deserved pardons are mostly recommendations from justice department review.  Non-violent people who already served long sentences which would be shorter under current laws.  However Trump pardons are far more controversial because they are based on personal or political connections.  For example, supporters such as father of his son-in-law Kushner.

 No need to fight the future government.  You only need to move to Cuba or Venezuela among others and you'd have the government you have always wanted.  Pretty simple, eh?

Excuse me, didn't Biden pardon his own son after saying over and over he never would because he trusts a jury's verdict?

Could you get more controversial than that??
