Of course they are because of his name. These charges would not have even been applied to an everyday citizen. Kind if a big nothing burger for Republicans.  Plea deal gives him probation. This is the best authorities could do against the Biden crime family??? Surprising since we heard in this forum for the last 4 years that there was so much "evidence" against Hunter, especially on that laptop. I heard about secret China deals, Hunter with underage kids, and this was it???  So, they are not talking it; or they still are? Which one are you saying? If you think the ordinary citizen would not be charged, give it a try.  I am sure they are working to try a plea.  If it was a nothing burger I am pretty sure that is the definition of dismissing the charges. So, I am pretty sure if you keep up with the news, a lot of folks are still talking about it.  It does not mean it will be the number one story every day but it is still news.

    You do realize the tax charges are misdemeanors? The most serious charge is the gun charge, which he is basically doing rehab for. It is a nothing burger and he will serve no time. It is staying in the news, especially the conservative news, because his name is Hunter Biden. Pretty sure you know how sensationalism works? an_light

    Gotcha. I thought you were asking why people are NOT still talking about it.  Your initial post I quoted seemed to imply that.

    Yes, I do not think people expected him to serve time for either of those charges; just did not want him to get away completely with it, etc.

    Maybe at this point they may be more interested in the business dealings, etc.  peace_5

Who is this "they" you are referring to?  Ok try this, instead of an everyday citizen. Name anyone in the limelight that has been charged, tried, convicted, or served time for similar charges as to those brought against Hunter Biden. Any celebrity, politician, athlete, entertainment, or relative of a government official. 2 misdemeanor charges for failing to file federal taxes and a felony gun possession charge with obviously no intent to use or it actually being used against or to threaten anyone.

    The same 'they' you were referring to in the first post?  I assume you meant the Media and the folks on the Right and the folks in here?

    Who did you mean was NOT talking about it?

    So, now you do not want to compare to everyday citizens BUT to wealthy or famous people?  Which is it?  But, okay, I agree if you are famous or have money you most likely can afford better lawyers and can plea down better.

    I am not sure what you are getting at -- you are all over the place on this.

    I'm pretty clear. Not sure what you are confused about. I clearly stated that Hunter Biden critic posters in this forum were not talking about Hunter Biden or the laptop this week. Secondly, I cannot randomly state an everyday citizen that no one knows in this forum, so I moved to people in the limelight. an_lightYou nailed it though, Hunter will not be doing any time, which I know disappoints you and all of the Biden haters in the forum. As far as trying to get him on his business dealings, when are those charges coming?? Hasn't the laptop already been retrieved, and all of the information vetted. Why would those charges be delayed?

    @DeezyAZ81

     I could not care about his tax issues or his gun issues.  But I am not sure that most folks are here were either.  I think they were more interested in the other issues with him, right?  I honestly do not keep up with it in detail -- but I assume, yes, they have the laptop and are still reviewing the information on the business dealings.  Not sure why I would be disappointed?  I have not even mentioned Hunter at all.  Not my main thing.

    I was simply pointing out that people are still talking about him is all. peace_5

    I think when you switch the comparison from everyday citizen to 'famous or rich' folks it loses the point.  I think the point people usually try to use is the first one you were making -- that it is very different for the average person; no one disputes it is the same for the wealthier people.

    I think the other issues with Biden are much bigger than the ones he did a plea on, if there were influence used and traded, etc.  That affects more than just himself.

    For example, what do you mean by this?  You think an 'everyday citizen' would be LESS likely to have these charges 'applied' to him?  You think the average citizen can get away with that much tax evasion or gun charges?

    I know a lot of folks that have gotten charged with both charges; unless your use of 'applied' is meant another way?

    Now you can say that the rich get less time, fines, charges because of what I said.  But that is a totally different subject. peace_5

    @DeezyAZ81

     I went back and looked in this thread before you say no one was talking about him.  They were several mentions directly leading up to your post and several were by folks on the Right.

    So, that is part of the confusion: even on here it he is still being talked about.

    Maybe you want more or expected more or were trying to stir up some more.  Who knows what the amount of posts about it would qualify as 'still talking' about it.

    To answer your question. Yes, I think an every day common citizen with no prior record would have been much less likely to have these charges brought against them, especially the misdemeanor tax charges. Gun charges not sure, I guess it depends on the offense. We see a lot of criminals get away with gun violations or  encounter no problems purchasing legal guns with prior records or issues and then commit additional murders or mass shootings. These charges especially, the tax ones, were brought because of Biden's name and obsession over him for the last 5 years in the media and from the radical right. Nothing to see here. Those charges you are hoping for against Hunter Biden "business dealings" are not coming. Pretty sure the feds already stated case closed on Hunter and his laptop this week, unless you have some information the feds do not that you want to share???

    It's just funny I have never one heard you interested in any of Kushner's billion dollar dealings with the Saudi's while serving the previous administration, or Ivanka's ability to secure very valuable patents for her products with China during her time in office under her father. No problem at all with those business dealings right?? Just Hunter's, despite him never even holding an official government position.

    I am talking about mentions of the recent charges this week, in which his frequent critics did not have much to say about unsurprisingly.

    @DeezyAZ81

     Gotcha   Yeah I saw a couple mention that they did not expect him to do time, etc.

    Did you expect more comments about those charges?

    I think more are concerned about the other stuff with him.  Don't you think so?

    I did expect more comments for any charges yes, especially since so many in the forum were calling for his head on a platter.

    I think somebody here is confused peace_5

    You can talk all day about Hunter Biden being charged , not doing jail time , having a gun , about the laptop , his questionable business ventures etc . etc …..

    Doesn’t matter to me . peace_5

    His daddy still cleans his poopy diapers and all the doody messes that he makes . Digs that hand in there deep too , like a rubber spatula , to get way inside there in the crevices . Yuck . You heard their messages . Joe cares about his son , as he should peace_5

    But that doesn’t change the fact that Hunter is a piece of shit peace_5

    Admit that he’s a piece of shit . That’s all I ask peace_5

    because for you Deezy ……

    that had so many problems , and fucking brutally disgusting words for a poster in the penalty box , when they spoke about their drug use in the past , and their partying and carousing with women , and the promiscuous activity that goes along with that lifestyle , if you don’t bring the hammer down on your boy Hunter Biden by saying that he’s a piece of shit …..

    when that motherfucker is the Grand Champion  of crack cocaine and prostitute debauchery ….

    Then you’re a hypocritical person to a vicious degree . peace_5

    now don’t go doubling up for life on the lies brother . Be honest . Is Hunter a piece of shit ?

    Correct, you have not heard me talk about Kushner either. peace_5

    I think you are very mistaken.  That large of a tax evasion is drawing charges from the average guy.  Lot of average folks are charged with gun violations.

    I am not hoping for charges at all with Biden.  I have not commented on him before.  Not interested.  I only commented because of the two things you said here that I think were incorrect.

    Others have commented on it and average folks would be charged. peace_5

    Others have commented on it and average folks would be charged. peace_5

I did expect more comments for any charges yes, especially since so many in the forum were calling for his head on a platter.

    Do you think the Media and the Right care as much about the taxes and guns as the other stuff?  Or do you just WANT them to?  Why would they?  It would be different if it were his dad or if his dad helped him get off on those charges.

    But I do not know that many people that really care about those -- it is just additional things that point to the guy being a nut.

    @DeezyAZ81

     At any rate -- I just wanted clarify what you were concerned about.  The only things before I had commented about in this thread is the tangential things that I care about and got no real replies about. peace_5

    I am not interested in Hunter's tax and gun issues.

    Maybe someone else on the Right here is and will answer you further about those.  an_cheers

    @UNIMAN

     I know this was commented on a few hours ago before the invasion of the thread but I do see it that way, they stealth destroyed it using lawyer ball conservative scheming instead of standing with the previous decision for the VERY reason that this is a bad idea. They tossed it to the stupid states where partisan nonsense and extremes wreck it for the majority. The whole reason this went to there in the first place is that states are politically biased and do not think of the better common good, they play religion and politics and take away liberties and this is what they did now.

    It was as transparent as Trump's hair flip, it was easy to see this was a stealth way to make a conservative judicial decision and get away with it. I support the rights of women and the choice of women more than my religious beliefs because my beliefs are to be in my house, women deserve the right to make medical decisions for themselves even if I might not make that decision myself.

    You are foolish not to see it for what it is, states cannot handle hot topics like this and not be biased and make mistakes which harms in this case women and it is terrible that people are conned by this scheme.

    Are you new? I've said Hunter Biden was a piece of $hit for the last 5 years. His lifestyle also has nothing to do with his Daddy Joe as a grown 53 year old man that does work for the government or his father's administration. That his been my position for the last 5-6 years when all of this nonsense about Hunter started coming out. If having piece of $hit grown kids in your family disqualifies you from being President, the last President would have never been permitted to run in elections and serve in government either. By that other poster in the PB are you referring to yourself? Why would you be so concerned about another poster that you do not know?? an_light

    @Raiders22

    Just so you know in any given year, 98% of criminal cases in the federal courts end with a plea bargain — a practice that prizes efficiency over fairness and innocence, according to a new report from the American Bar Association.Money saving, too. Think that is far far from obstruction of justice and espionage

    CBS news poll reveals most Americans felt supreme court overturning of Roe has been bad for the country.  Allowing states to determine abortion law isn't democracy.  It is authoritarianism and a sign of failing democracy.  Problem is minority rule that takes away rights supported by the majority.  Even women in republican states are rallying for access to abortion.  In midterm elections, every state that held a referendum shows most voters support abortion rights.  Restricting abortions can make pregnancy more dangerous and worsen US highest maternal mortality rate among rich nations.
