I noitced this one time, 2 players in the pot,  after the river...  player 1, says to player 2,  you hit 9-10?  the board was showing a straight... when player 1 said that, player 2, quickly looked at the board...

what i get from that is,

Player 1 didnt have the straight.. since he didnt know what it made...

I would also say that when a player seems to be studying the board, i put him as weak and on a draw...

tells r overrated, its just little things people do that you catch sometimes.  one hand recently i had raised with aj and guy called on the button (he was calling a lot).  flop came 36q rainbow and he kinda jumped in his seat a little, and i said hell he musta hit something so i just checked and he went all in and i acted like i had a tough decision and folded and he showed aq, if he hadnt had did that i probably would have continuation bet on the fold and lost some more chips.  however, i think this is kinda rare, i rely a lot more on betting patterns and tendencies more then these.

online i noticed some players will use the check/fold button... this tells me that a player is willing to give up his hand when the turn passes by him so quickly... however im sure if you hit a monster hand, and employ this tell, you can really trap a player into beliving you dont have anything and forcing a raise from other players...

just another check/raise trap but with an extra Uuuhh

the quick check is great.  In live play only with a talkative players I've noticed when they get really quiet they usually have the goods.

read mike caro's "book of tells."

    very good stuff in there.

I read it awhile ago but one I liked was when the flop comes out, look at the player and if he sees the board and looks away quickly, he hit his hand....if he looks at the board for a couple of seconds, he is trying to figure out what exactly he can turn his hand into.

Poker may be a branch of psychological warfare, an art form or indeed a way of life but it is also merely a game, in which money is simply the means of keeping score. The strong point in poker is never to lose your temper, either with those you are playing with or, more particularly, with the cards. There is no sympathy in poker.

The left side of your brain is where your imagination comes from.....

Watch people sometimes when they are trying to act relaxed after a bet, as if they have a good hand.
If they seem to be looking to the left or doing things to their left, could be giving you a tell subconsciously because they are bluffing

Instead of looking for tells, I try not to give any tells.  That is more important than looking for tells.

after the flop, if somebody immediately looks at their chips, they hit the flop. Also inexperienced players, when they hit a big hand hand, often times they look away from the table right away, trying to act like they aren't interested. they may have a monster though. Of course there are reverse tells on all of this too, so it depends on the player too.
