Sure as shit not going to believe "your experience" at an online poker site.  How many hands have you seen where all these things happen?  What, 500?  I have seen at least a 200,000 hands, to get my experience from.

Yeah I read about 80 pages of stuff on another forum about all that a whileback. That place was really really scandalous, they were all in on it, including former Main Event champ Russ Hamilton, who actually looks like the ring leader, Coverups and lies, I cant believe people still actually play at that site.

Uh, because it's not.  How many hands have you seen to get your ridiculous opinion from?  What sites have you played at and what is your username?  What stakes?

I bet you send a little money Friday night, go bust by Sunday, send a little more 2-3 more times, lose that, then switch sites and start all over again.

I have seen at least 200,000 hands not just cherry picking my opinion on a few hands I lost.

Dude I know you werent referring to me but sriously, Ive won basically 30K in the last 9 months online. How am I doing this if its rigged??? Am I just one of the "blessed" few that the site decided to "let me win"?? Youre ridiculous.

Honestly though, I GUARANTEE if youre not winning online then you have holes in you game. Im not saying that to put you down, Im being honest. Also the reason I get so upset at people sometimes is beacuse I USED TO THINK THE SAME THING!!! Then I had a friend who was CRUSHING it online and i was like "Wow, this guy is a real person, not some "schill of the site" or "cheater" and he's making serious coin" It was then I realized I only THOUGHT I knew how to play. I thoughtbecause I watched every episode of WSOP on ESPN and went to the casino every friday that I was already "there" as far as a poker player. It was only when I quit blaming the beats and the sites and started playing better and , the key here, my BEST game EVERY game. Even if youre not as good as the next guy , if you play your BET GAME more often than he does you'll be a bigger winner than him in the long run.

What Im trying to say is this. Back in my beginning Id send $50-$100 or whatever to pokerstars or fulltilt on Friday Night, pull out a 12 pack of Heineken and "get on it"!!! Id play good, tight poker and start off reasonably well in my first few tournaments. Then Id get royally fucked in a tourney (which is gonna happen over and over, rememebr AK vs. AQ all in preflop still loses 3 of 10 times). So after the beat Id then proceed to "steam" off the next 2 or 3 tournies cuz I was pissed about my "bad beat". So then Id finally settle down, regroup and start playing well again only to go either absolutely fucvking card dead for the next tourney or two or just get bad beat-ed again. Then I would just throw up my hands in disgust and say, "Whats the point? When I play good I just get fucked and when I pay bad I just get buried, fuck this shit" All the while I would just blame the site and say to myself "Im good, I just always get fucked"

The thing I didnt realize at the time was because of the beats and the tournies I would "steam" off after that I was literally "steaming" or "not playing my BEST game (even if ur best game isnt top-notch, its still way better than your worst) in like 20% of the tournies I was playing. Well Im sorry but most people (myself included at the time) are JUST NOT GOOD ENOUGH TO THROW AWAY 20% OF THEIR TOURNIES AND STILL PROFIT. So finally after many many nights going to bed demoralized and bust I decided to give internet poker one last shot, but a GOOD shot, 100% effort.

I decided I was gonna play 100 of the EXACT same type of tourney. Not that it really matters but they were $8.80 18-man sit-n-go satellites where top 5 got a $26 token. I told myself no matter how may I won or lost, no matter how many times i got fuked or anything i was gonna play MY BEST GAME every hand every tourney. And after these 100 tournies if I couldnt make money I just wasnt good enough or the internet was garbage, either way I would be DONE.

As I got about 20 tournies into it I could see it was gonna work. When you get fucked out of a tourney you have to forget about it, no matter how brutal it is cuz if youre still thinkin about it then youre not playin ur best and if ur not playin ur best dont expect to win, period. After those 100 tournies I was up about $1000 and the rest is history.

My whole point is this. ITS NOT THE INTERNET, ITS YOU. If you seriously play online and you SERIOUSLY wanna get better send me a hand history from a tourney youve played and I'll review it, if youre a habitually losing player online I GUARANTEE I'll find many leaks in your game and you'll have many ares to fix and improve. No offense, but I doubt youre this awesome player who just always gets fucked.

You might just come back and say "fuck off" and thats fine. Just keep bitchin about it while I crush, joke will be on you. But if you seriously wanna win online drop me an email and send me some of your tournament hands and I'd love to see how youre playin and what youre doing wrong cuz I guarantee if youre not winnin online, youre doin something wrong.

Sorry if some grammar or spelling was bad, my keyboard sucks and Im not gona proofread this whole thing.

I've been playing Bodog poker for years. I used to play in cash games (low stakes), and every great once in a while I'd suspect two players in cahoots...(ie: first guy bets, I call, last guy raises, first guy re-raises, I fold, raiser folds). When the same two people did that a few times at the table, it certainly looked suspicious. I once asked a friend who played a lot of on-line poker if he ever worried about that happening, he said "hell yeah it happens! I've done it!" So, there's no question that it happens.

Then there's the possibility of Bodog rigging the cards to inflate the betting. They certainly have an incentive to do so since they make a percertage of every pot in cash games.  However, after many years of playing on-line I still have no idea if there's any validity to that.

At this point, I now exclusively play in CHEAP sit-n-go tournaments and I no longer worry about being cheated. Bodog has no incentive to rig the cards and inflate betting because in sit-n-go's they make their cut up front. And by playing in cheap games, there's little incentive for players to cheat together since there's so little profit to be made and it takes so long to reach the money. Not to mention, it can be somewhat counter productive to cheat with another player in a 10-man tournament.

You won't make a lot of money playing cheap sit-n-go's, but you probably won't get cheated either.  And I'm living proof that they're rather easy to win, because I've done extremely well playing them and I'm an average player at best.

I can't believe I read all of this. What a waste my time. Anything online can and is rigged. I know owners of  certain  sites (none that were named here) and yes it is rigged. I will not go into detail of how this is done just believe me it is.

chanceP you said it best, great writeup, nobody wants to admit they aren't good enough. i used to be the same way online, a lot of steamy tilt plays, play small 10$ tourneys or so, lose one to a bad beat, up it to a 25$ tourney and play poorly and lose, then instead of losing 1 buy-in, you just lost 3.5. i'd still much rather play live as i find myself more patient and like the social part, keeps me more content, but i don't think online poker is rigged at all, and if it is its not rigged in the levels most these people play, noone is rigging a 5-50 cent blind game. just my input.
