I know everyone gets tired of bad beat stories ( including myself ) but this one takes the cake, IMO. I don't really look at it as a BB just dumb luck on the other guys part.
$20 Sit-and-Go Online.... 4 or 5 players left .. I have about 2500 in chips. Blinds are 100-200 ... I am under the gun and get dealt 10-10 so I bump it 800 to go. Everyone folds to the big blind and he calls the extra 600. Flop comes 10-J-J. I go all-in and he calls ( he had me covered by 200-300 or so ) The turn is a J. The river is a J. The guy was holding A-Q. So, you tell me. BB or dumb luck?

pretty self explanatory...I think the odds were not in his favour wouldnt you agree? Not sure why he calls the all in with AQ unless he put ya on AJ...online, anyone plays almost anything you could say...especially in a 20$ S&G...
You played it right...and the near impossible materialized.
so bad beat? sure
bad luck? absolutely...unless you were the other guy right?

The only way that I could possibly see myself calling is if I had a Royal Flush draw and he didn't.
odds:
pre flop 52-48 ( So, I can see the call there )
flop 98-2 ( just a little in my favor ) even with a Royal draw it is 92-8
turn goes down to 84-16 ( but still )
hey, like you said, any one may play anything in a $20 S&G online.
would have been swee to play that hand with a $10,000+ bad beat jackpot somewhere
only been a part of one of those and that was playing Omaha when a royal beat 4 J's. The guy had the quads on the flop and checked it to the turn and only bet $50, the guy that caught the royal on the end called with the nut flush and boom.
I saw one this past week where a kid was mad as hell when his quads got beat by a str8 flush until someone finally made him realize that it was a $16,000 payday for him. He felt like an ass afterward.. but a wealthier ass, at that

4 ppl left preflop if you raise he should be reraising all in with aq. since he doesnt stupid call on the flop by him, he could maybe even justify calling pre then shoving on that flop with 2 overs and a gutshot, but i hate how he played it completely.

He called because he had an inside straight draw. Many idiotic online players do. You can pretty much throw pot odds out the window when playing online because unless you are playing very high limits or a very big buy-in, people aren't going to implement pot odss or and other type of odds for that matter. I mean c'mon, it was a $20 sit-n-go.
Yes, it was a dumb move by him and bad luck for you. That it online poker most of the time.
Crazy flop, turn and river btw.

Not sure if I am understanding this correctly or if you misspoke, but why would he call with AQ if he put him on AJ?
