If two players...one with a big ace(AK or AQ) and the other one has a small ace(A 7). Why is it that the Ace comes more on the flop than hitting a set with a pocket pair? Both have two outs left right?

I never thought of it....is that true? If both have two outs I can't imagine that there would be any difference in the odds of one or the other hitting.
This is not a sarcastic response at all......I'm genuinely curious if this is indeed true.

If you look at all of the possibilities, then the J10 suited has the suited outs, lots of straight outs, and the J10. the AK is favored over the J10 because nothing has to hit for AK basically. 22 over AK, the AK has to get a pair or a straight, and the 2's take away 2 straight outs. probably comes down to J10 being a very good hand for straights and flushes.
J10 suited is favorite over 22.
AK off suite is favorite over J10 suited.
But 22 is favorite over AK offsuite.

Like the Godfather said, there's nothing surprising there. Those suited connectors are quite good its like the best hand to have against AA is 78s or thereabouts.

all things equal, all of these hands would be nice to start with, you just need to flop something. with the deuces, flopping a set, that's very dangerous, for everyone else.

Colonel, sometimes the math seems odd, but I believe the %s to be accurate and i don't question math probabilities. I leave it up to the numbers geeks to provide me with odds and %s.
And 78 suited may not be horrible vs AA, but it is also going to be an underdog to most hands. Ax vs AA is the worst scenario for the underdog.

I believe the difference in the original question is that there will be many more situations where two different players each have an ace, rather than one player having pocket aces, so it seems that it happens more often in the first scenario because that scenario is much more common.

what is really fucked up is if you have KK or QQ, and the first card on the flop is an ace, and these assholes have A 2, A 4 and A 9, and they called raises with these hands. So all of the aces are out, and the case ace hits the flop. Guys that chase runner runner flushes piss me off too but I guess these guys are dead money so one should welcome idiots like that.
