This, to me, is the most ridiculous thing I see at casinos. These guys are sitting at the lowest level possible at the casino wearing sunglasses acting like big pros like theyre avoiding people getting reads on them. First of all, 98% of people sitting at these low limit tables arent getting any reads off anyone and 2nd, most of the time the guy wearing the sunglasses is one of the loosest worst players at the table, calling every bet hoping that 1 out of 10 times they do get it right and call a bluff. This same guy also takes like a minute to make EVERY decison, its so exhausting. Its 3 dollars to call a blind and they mull it over for like a minute just to fold, its pathetic, YOU GOT 2-5 OFF FOLD ALREADY. It just wastes so much time and instead of making them look like a good player its just makes them look like a fool taking it so seriously. Ya dont need sunglasses at the lowest limit tables in the casino. 90% of guys I see with the sunglasses rebuy and rebuy all night, its hilarious. Quit acting like someone youre not (a pro) and just play cards

I don't see anything wrong with it.    You guys need to lighten up.

Poker players don't wear sunglasses to be cool.    They wear them to hide their eyes.   They eyes are the window to the soul.   It's generally acceptable to wear sunglasses at a poker table.   Half the players you see on TV wear sunglasses.

So what really is your problem with it?    The game is too low stakes to wear them?   Well I'm pretty much sure you didn't show up at that poker table just for FUN.

You wanna win and so does somebody that decides to wear sunglasses.

In my opinion you guys in this thread are the guys with the ATTITUDE problem and not the people wearing the sunglasses.

No one should feel the need to prevent me from "looking into their soul" to decide whether I should call their last bet on the river in a $4/$8 game.

If they are playing for a chance at a million dollars, then I can understand it.  But low limit hold 'em is about playing odds.   sunglasses

Well Hutch maybe you should just move up to a more high roller table.

You're obviously a much better person than some guy who wants to win a little cash and is more comfortable playing poker with sunglasses on.

Just move to a table with more high rollers like yourself and leave the poor guy with the sunglasses alone.

I suggest this for all of you hotshots.    You are just too great of people to play in a $4/$8 game.

The main point here is you cant bluff in a 3-6 or 4-8 game.  There is no bluffing usually
3 players at the river.  The sunglass thing is too avoid being caught, who's bluffing in 4-8.
People at these tables will chase every flush or str8 possible plus will always play bottom pair.

I'm afraid to where sun glasses at a poker table, it just seems stupid to me.  If you make a move then stare at the felt, unless you have eyes like Phil Ivey when you're bluffing then I don't see the point.   Also I see these guy's in big tournaments with sunglasses on their head and they pull them down like robo cop when they are ready to play a hand, don't give it away pencil dick!

On the other hand I have seen players with sunglasses and an I-pod that just rule the table.  I sat down at Harrah's 1/2 NL one day and there was that guy with all the chips just dominating the table.  Then right across from him was a donk with dark sunglasses on that gave away 2 buyins to this player.

I think its a joke when people wear shades at the table.  I dont care WTF limit it is.  That point shouldn't matter.  I just know that it's a little

I rarely even wear a hat when I play.  I will actually do an ipod sometimes if it's a big tourney field - of course never at a home game.

Just move to a table with more high rollers like yourself and leave the poor guy with the sunglasses alone.

I suggest this for all of you hotshots.    You are just too great of people to play in a $4/$8 game.

I wouldn't make fun of someone who exclusively played $2/$4.  To each their own.  But don't try to convince me that they "feel more comfortable" with sunglasses on.  It's 100% an attempt to be cool and imitate the high rollers.

greyhound, do you wear sunglasses at the poker room?

Hutch I have actually NEVER played Poker in a casino or poker room.   I have only played on the internet.

But if I do play in a casino or poker room,  I will bring sunglasses with me and probably wear them.

Not to be cool,  just because I think I would be more comfortable and relaxed playing with them.

And I have no problem with anybody who wears sunglasses while they play poker.    Generally, it's to hide the eyes but maybe there is some guys who want to be cool or imitate the pros.    Either way I wouldn't care.

You guys need to lighten up as I have said before.         People make fashion statements in all walks of life,   why can't they do it at the poker table if that is why they are doing it.

I agree....You can usually spot the sucker just from them wearing sunglasses in a low limit game.  It shows that they are playing poker because its trendy and just started playing like 2 years ago when it got popular.

Sorry man,  I just don't have the mental makeup to sit in a smoky casino for hours and grind it out playing poker with strangers the majority of which I'm gonna dislike.

Wouldn't work for me.    I would become anxious and irritated in a short period of time.

I just don't see a problem with guys wearing sunglasses at the poker table.
