    playing 4-8

as usual only 2 other player in after my preflop raise ... (when you dont flop quads there are 6 calls to your raise )

    10 10

flop comes 10,10,J  2 diamond..i checked then a guy bet other guy folds so i just called

then turn was 3rd diamond so i just bet  becuase other guy might have checked then 4th diamond on the river  so i bet i was hoping hed raise but he just called

and i turned em over and said four 10's

on the flop i was shocked i was thinking "oh good a set , oh wait quads"

nice hand.  and your are correct why is it when you want multiple players in the hand that's when you get a minimum number of callers.  Any other time seems like people will call with their crap hands.

you played that hand so poorly... next time you flop quads vs the field do yourself a favor and bet into the field...... hopefully get raised.. then checkraise the turn and go crazy then YOU MUST bet the river.. maximize your pots... Expert play.

es oiceman, in many cases you kinda have to slow play after flopping quads, as when the flop has a big pair, noone really wants to bet it, and in this case noone has trip 10's, a pair on the flop even slows down maniacs that bet on draws, when flopping quads you have to let guys catch up a little, if you bet big on the flop everyone may fold and you win squat. wouldn't you like some tool to catch a flush on the river and raise or go all in? maximize your potential, let someone else push you all in, if you go all in w/ quads it is very unlikely anyone will call unless they have a boat or big flush

I understand that the guy was playing limit. I was saying that if I  flop quads in a tourney, limit or no limit game, I am gonna slow play it, esp in the no limit and tourney, let someone catch a full house or whatever and let them hang themselves. You can make more money if you let them see the river. In situations where there is a jackpot involved it is probably best to slow play also as I saw one ashole fold a set of tens on the flop where other players had flopped a straight flush, a straight, and a flush, it was $6 to this moron and he floded the set of tens, the turn was a 10, this asshole lost out on a $38 K bad beat jackpot and the rest of the table including me lost out on a $5 K table share. Ironically the idiot with the straight that raised with the 3 clubs out on the flop left quickly as he drove the guy out with the set of 10's, he was afraid of being beaten up. The guy w/ the straight flush didn't raise till the river, it was a nice pot and he let everyone else do the betting. playing with idiots like this can cost you money, never fold a set that could qualify for a jackpot.

In limit, if you flop quads, it depends on your position. You want a few callers, so if you are first to act, check it, then if someone else bets it, then call it. or if everyone checks it, that's fine, as noone will put you on quads or trips. on the turn you can slowplay it or bet it, I have bet and then been raised, which is fine, as on the river I am gonna make some money. I have had guys catch boats and flushes and then lose a lot of money as I had the nuts, and heads up usually there are no caps to the raises in limit. If I had raised after the flop then maybe this asshole would have folded his backdoor flush draw on the flop.
