Crazy Atlantic City Story

My buddy was in AC this weekend....He was watching a high limit game. He told me a crazy story. There were three hands, JJ, QQ, AA...The flop came out JJQ.  The three guys were all in preflop...Jacks was in for about 8000, the queens was all in for about 11000, and Aces was all in for about 5 or 6000.   The dealer is doing the turn and actually accidentally throws down four cards.  Of course, the queen is one of them.  The guy with queens is screaming, the guy with jacks is also yelling.

 

After the pit boss comes over, the decision is made to put the cards back in and reshuffle.  As the dealer is grabbing the cards, the guy who had queens says to the dealer and pit boss.  "If you put those cards back him, after I kill him(dealer), I am going to kill you."

 

My buddy said it took about 5 minutes for 10 or so cops to come down, and the man is arrested. and taken out in cuffs

 

The best part is that, when the cards were reshuffled, the yurn and river were A A!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

Quad Aces won....My buddy said the reactions of everyone was priceless.  You think you see and hear it all in poker.

If no one believes me, I don't care.  My buddy does not lie, I just thought everyone would get a kick out of this

 

well, firt of all, the guy w/ Queens had a 50% chance of catching quads then , as there are 2 burn cards, and the river and turn card amongst the 4 cards. But I am surprised that such an incompetant dealer is dealing a high stakes game like this. I have never seen an exposed card or cards like this, and I have seen a lot of bad dealers out there. There are cases where the dealer burns and turns too fast. Hopefully this place had a jackpot. But not sure if the jackpot would pay out on a malfunction like this. Everybody should have gotten their money back as someone was bound to get really screwed here.

well about 900 to 1 against Quad aces so I guess it is possible, everything is just too bizarre though. I have seen a burn card exposed as it slips out, but doesn't seem possible that 4 cards would fall out unless an earthquake happened or something like that.

yes godfather, i agree.  I think the only way they go back in is if there is a turn and river because seeing last card could influence betting??

basically my buddy said that his finger got caught and these cards accidentally flipped out......i have tried to call him back

depends if he pushed or called, depends on the player. I have had JJ and folded it, or called an All-in, depended on the player. You have to look at the guy and judge whether he wants you to call. If he has KK or AA, he wants the actio. If he has A-J or similar or 8-8, he will get nervous once you put some thought into calling. Some jokers will get fancy with medium pairs. Some guys would only push with Q-Q or better. Now calling 2 all ins with JJ is probably not good, as likely one of them has you beat. Pushing with JJ on the button foe example, may be good as what are the odds that someone limped in w/ KK or AA or one of the blinds has you beat?
