Unbelievable.  I pick up K Q of hearts  on the button and move all in for a little over 11k. Big stack (around 36k) calls with J 6 of hearts  Flop comes 6 Q 7 rainbow- I take the lead. Of course turn is a J, river is meaningless, and I lose. This is the only site where the best hand never holds up- what fu-- bull-!  I know some of u will say that's poker, and I understand that- but this is really starting to piss me off. Online poker completely kills your confidence with the bu--- bad beats out of nowhere

I know some people want to say these sites are rigged, but I just watched my buddy online Sunday at Full Tilt place 37th in a tourney with over 3000 people in it.  Towards the end he just couldn't get any hands and blinds and ante's caught up to him.

He placed in the top 72 of a satellite to get to this one, so it wasn't necessarily shit luck in just one tourney.

Now, that doesn't address your issue, but maybe the guy had a feeling that you were bullshiting.  I know I've put people on a hand and called a large bet that I wouldn't have if I knew ahead of time what they had.  Guys get pissed, but I simply say, hey, I put you on this hand, you had better and I just happend to outdraw.  Happens to all of us, live or internet.

You were a 2.5:1 fav when the money went in.

Why do people continually complain about getting beat as a REASONABLE favorite?   It happens all the friggin' time.  You don't say what the blinds were, but they were probably up there.  If you were NOT suited, he was LESS THEN A 2:1 dog when the money went in.

Was it a good play?  No.  Was it even in the top 1,000 of what has been discussed here?  Not close.

People take beats as 4:1 dogs (8-8 against J-J for example) ALL THE TIME.  Remember, even in a great situation like that, you're STILL going to lose 1 out of every 5 times.

    JONNIE-

Not at all.  You should be mad and yes, he mad a bad call IMO.  Now I don't know what blinds were, but what about this?  What about a standard raise there?  You might win it outright....you might win it on the flop if he calls....you might win it if he raises and you go all in then (we're discussing options BEFORE you saw the cards).  Maybe you were committed and pretty much were all in or nothing so you pushed.  That's the right play if that's the case.

But the bottom line is, he beat you as a decent (but not unheard of) dog.  How many times have you seen people get popped on a 2 outer on the river as almost 19:1 favorites?  Plenty.  In that case, losing as a 2.5:1 dog certainly isn't the worst thing I've ever witnessed.  It's a COMMON occurence.  Doesn't mean I'd be happy either, but losing as a 2.5:1 fav should never really surprise a person.  It's going to happy a LOT if you play a lot.

BTW, a buddy of mine lost to a ONE OUTER twice in one month.  That's when I'd be spewing venom.

Hutch- your right.  I've taken worse beats than that, it just gets frustrating. Anyway, blinds were 1,500 and 3k with I think a 150 ante or so. Thing is, I was gonna do what u suggested- standard raise, but if he calls anyway, that's a pretty big portion of my stack. This isn't one of those "bodog is rigged" threads, just a venting thread for how many shitty players there really are online who get their money in when they're approx. 30% to win, and always find a way to suck out.

Online poker is so fucked up these days with these horror stories of quads getting cracked and whatnot that even if I win I'm starting to think it's all fixed and not as randomn as everyone thinks..  I just can't trust it anymore. I play only at casinos and house games where I can see everything in front of me, not some online bullshit. I could be wrong, but that's the way I feel these days.
why do you continue to play if you feel this way
